What would be more useful to the online community?

By Deadshane, in X-Wing

What do you think would be more useful to our hobby here? What would you like to see more of when you're online and want to scratch the X-Wing itch but aren't playing a game on Vassal?

1. More Forums (with what features?)

2. More blogs

3. More Podcasts

4. More Youtube Channels

5. Other?

Battle reports in the vein of TeamCovenant's.

Squad Builders that you could use with multiple people at the same time, with someone building a list and then them tweaking it

3 and 4

Personally, I love watching MNX on Youtube. More stuff like that would be ideal for me.

Subforum for modified / painted miniatures

Banlist for C3P0 and ACD

Edited by Duraham

We need a Duraham bot, that randomly posts using words from the following dictionary: ban, broken, phantom, han, c3po, acd, cloak.

That will surely show FFG and the community that we mean bussiness!

Seriously dude, whenever I see that last post is yours, I can guess with 100% accuracy what it is about...

edit: For OP, more blogs!, more video battle reports of live battles, preferrably high skill!

I'd love to see something geared towards strategy tips and tricks for beginners. A blog or YouTube channel devoted purely to introducing the game to new players, tips for squadron building, strategy sessions regarding formation flying, target prioritization, etc. I've been trying to work on something like this myself, but I've not had a lot of time to devote to it as of yet.

5. Other...

I would love to see a world wide ranking system, similar to that which is used to rank chess players. I would love to be able to go online, and have the TOS of all the events I have attended log in those results and see players ranked accordingly. Something about the idea of looking up my name online to see where I stand is just really cool to me.

Also 3, the more X-Wing podcast we have the better for the community. I am clearly a HUGE proponent for the X-Wing Podcasting Community!

I want SPOILERS¡¡¡¡, I really love if it has more spoilers, because FFG don't give us enoughand are very slow, greettings.

Painting/modeling subforums

a GPS tracker on "The Boat" so we can click a link and actually see where the darn hold-up is!!!

There's so many of those listed items already, that I can't actually keep up with them unless I devote significant hours to just reading about X-Wing.

This is my gripe as well.

I have to say that I do like what EvilEd209 is talking about.

Though, I would be more interested in a local variant of it. I wonder if the crowd sourcing engine that sozin and MajorJuggler just demonstrated couldn't be the beginning of an idea towards making that happen. I think they're working on some sort of tournament software that collects data, but I know nothing more than that.

So, it would be a social technology, and it could - theoretically - give us a bit of the shape of the X-Wing playing network. We (and, frankly, FFG's marketing division) could learn a LOT about how the game gets propagated that way, given that most of us learn about this game from someone else.

More lore. I know the EU's Legends status makes this hard, but one of the best things the WEG and WotC games did was add lore.

There's a great channel called X-Wing Strategy Tips I recommend you review. Has not been updated in months so it won't include new wave relevant information but it still covers great basics.

I have thought of doing strategy but I'm not very smart. I'll do it anyways. LOL.

Nick Sickby was an inspiration with his "rule of 11", I also liked his 4 bomber squad, it was really fun to play during wave 3. He hasn't posted in a looooong time though.
