Jendon + Fleet Officer + Title = a thematic and fun command ship

By Tren, in X-Wing

Hi All,

Reading Fleet Officer I instantly thought of Colonel Jendon to build a cool command / support ship.

He Weighs in at 32 pts (Jendon 26 + Fleet Officer 3 + ST321 3) which is not a lot in epic... And ok for standard.

Building a list, I think you would want some natural 3 dice attacks to take advantage of the focus & target locks being given out so...

Jendon plus 2 x bounty hunters (with 2 points to spare) (or drop the title and take an engine upgrade on the shuttle)

The advantage of this build is it is very tanky and they all move as large base models...probably very easy to block though

Jendon + 2 x Defenders

Either vessery + delta with 1 point to spare... The extra focus to help flip up those crits...

Or Brath + Onyx with 1 point to spare.... Hand out target locks to Take advantage of Braths ability

Plus with defenders the additional focus helps in defense

I'm sure there is something fun you could do with a couple of shadow squadron pilots too... But that's probably getting a little cute.

so you're going either/or on the Target-lock/Focus depending on what the other ships need? Could be interesting.

More my money, though, I like to splurge a little on Jendon because I don't trust a shuttle's ability to preform actions with its dial and girth. Inveitably, he's run as a buzz-saw in my lists clocking in at 36 for FCS, Gunner, and Engineer (the last of which you can toss for the Officer). More pricey, but ideally you'll be handing out a TL and two focus

Kir Kanos is surprisingly an amazing user of Jendon's buffs. 3 dice + 1 damage from range 2-3 is nothing to sneeze at when those 3 dice are almost guaranteed hits.

Perhaps add experimental interface so you can do both.... (But this is starting to get points pricey.... Especially as it can be blocked so easily)

If you already investing that heavily in buffing nearby ships, you may as well add Experimental Interface and also Advanced Sensors so you can always do both even if you are forced to bump.

You will also need some additional help shedding stress. Using fleet officer and experimental interface will generate two stress per turn. So even if you have a black squadron pilot with wingman nearby you will still have to do green maneuvers to get your actions. I won't say that this is a bad idea, but I don't think you will have the points for two bounty hunters. You may have to go with cheap interceptors.

My thought would be to fly Fleet Officer and Jendon in the same fleet, but not as the same ship.

J wants to Target Lock. FO wants to faux-cas.

Hmm... Jendon + Wep Engineer and a Bounty Hunter + Fleet Officer looks promising...

That may work better, you still only have 35 points left for other ships and upgrades, but that may be enough.

On another thread I posted a sizable lists of Fleet Officer shuttles for circa 30 points.

Fleet Officer constantly stressed you and takes up your action: you don't want to inhibit your Firespray like that. In that setup you'd be better off putting the Officer on Jendon and giving Jendon Fire Control System to acquire locks. However, in Standard you'll be very short on additional ships so you'd probably be better trading off the Fleet Officer entirely and going with a Recon Specialist on the Bounty Hunter.

What about Jendon w/FCS, Weapon Engineer, Fleet Officer and ST-321? Grab TLs as your action and pass them off in the rounds before shooting starts and then switch to using your action for Fleet Officer and let FCS keep Jendon stocked up with TLs to pass off.

How about this Pas de deux for two space cows?
