Note To Self....

By Funkleton, in X-Wing

Don't put an ion cannon on an outrider when you know you're up against a Decimator.

Oh and try not to fly a barely damaged x-wing off the board in the same game.

Still only lost by a single hull point ( and managed to kill the Rear Admiral) - but still!

Note to self, don't put an Ion Cannon on an Outrider...ever :P

Seriously, even the Fringer becomes a 38 point ship which is way too expensive for only 1 damage a turn.

An ion on a YT-2400, though, might not be a bad idea. Would probably need to be Vrill, though, because 2 dice of damage also isn't much better for 30+ points.

Vrill

*Ion

*Tactician

Ionize, stress, pick them off

might be fun

LOL! True dat.

off topic but just as important.. do NOT go to walmart today... wife needed some stuff to make Oreo balls. lol place was a mad house. I tried to warn her as it was almost as bad yesterday... Reason i was out and about is that my nephew a Marine wont be in town tell tomorrow so we are actually doing our Thanksgiving then... Normally i would be frying turkeys!!!

now on topic i think Ion canons are under powered they need to do TWO ions of damage at once.. lol

I wouldn't go that far - at long range I'm generally happy with dealing 1 damage against the high agility high Ps ships that seem to make up most of the imperial lists I face in my local scene - a 10 hp 2 agility range 3 ion turret seems quite attractive

.

But given the choice of ion or HLC against a zero agility ship with 16 hp is just bloody stupid.

The problem is you only have the option for one damage per turn with the Outrider title.

Much better just to grab a cannon and save 5 points, imo
