Decimator list ideas.

By Omnitron310, in X-Wing

So I picked up my oh-so-sexy Decimator today (finally!). I've got some games lined up on Monday, and I want to try it out, so I figured I'd play around with some list ideas. I decided to write one for each of the three named pilots, trying to play to their strengths. Let me know what you think:

Oicunn Yo' Grill:

Captain Oicunn (42)

Stay on Target (2)

Navigator (3)

Mara Jade (3)

Seismic Charges (2)

(52)

Academy Pilot (12)

x4

Total: (100)

Idea here is quite obvious. Oicunn uses Navigator and Stay in Target to always get his ram off and also place his Seismic. Since he'll be at close range all the time, Mara Jade seems like a good choice too. Academies can harry the enemy and try to block them, funnelling them into Oicunn's path.

Fatboy Kenkirk:

Commander Kenkirk (44)

Determination (1)

Ysanne Isard (4)

(49)

Omicron Group Pilot (21)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

Fire-Control System (2)

(30)

Scimitar Squadron Pilot (16)

Proton Bombs (5)

(21)

Total: (100)

I wasn't really sure what was best for Kenkirk, so I decided to go with a fat list. Kenkirk should have some serious survivability, dodging shots and shedding crits. The fat nature of the list also means that if necessary, the Bomber can drop the Proton in range of my own ships without too many negative consequences.

Admiral Howlprowl:

Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)

Expose (4)

Experimental Interface (3)

Fleet Officer (3)

(56)

Howlrunner (18)

Wingman (2)

Academy Pilot (12)

x2

Total: (100)

Here, Chiraneau (how on earth do you say that? :P) makes use of his Experimental Interface with two Action upgrades (including the dreaded Expose, which may have a niche home here). Howlrunner wants to stick close, buffing his attack and also helping shed the stress he gets from EI and Fleet Officer. In return, Chiraneau can help her survive by handing out focus, which also allows the other ties to barrel roll for better shots and still be lethal.

So, what do you guys think? Good, bad? And what are your thoughts on the Decimator? How would you run it, and what do you think its place will be once the dust settles?

You seem to be forgetting that if he uses Stay on Target then his maneuver is red, so he won't be dropping the bomb.

Seismic charges and Proton Bombs don't use actions. Only prox mines do.

Here, Chiraneau (how on earth do you say that? :P)

I believe you pronounce it Keer-en-new.

You seem to be forgetting that if he uses Stay on Target then his maneuver is red, so he won't be dropping the bomb.

Bombs are dropped before you reveal the dial (in the case of Seismic and Proton bombs anyway), not as an action. So whether he is stressed or not or whether the manouver is red or not shouldn't matter.

Edit: Ninja'd

The rest of the name points toward Fench, but unfortunately both the Greek and the Chinese Chi exist in French as it does in English.

Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)
Push the Limit (3)
Ysanne Isard (4)
Mara Jade (3)
Rebel Captive (3)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Academy Pilot (12)

Academy Pilot (12)

Academy Pilot (12)

Total: 99

I'm considering

Chiranaeu - Expose, Flechette torpedos

OGP - Ion cannon

OGP - Ion cannon

The idea is that on initial approach Chiranaeu fires off the torpedo to stress the most threatening target, whilst the shuttles try and ionise it. After that, the shuttles are just trying to limit movent options for potential targets to make it easier for Chiranaeu to close in to range 1 for a 5 attack with a pseudo focus.
