I've got a handful of ships and I really dig engine upgrade. Unfortunately I only got into the game starting with Imperial Aces, so no Falcons for me.
What's the best hope I have of Engine Upgrades? Wait for reprints?

It would be copyright infringement to print images of the card that you can easilly find online onto card stock or pasting them over a worthless mod that you have a ton of.
So whatever you do, don't do that even though it's essentially free and there aren't even legitimate ways to get it right now except by giving in to price gaugers who want $70 for a Falcon, if you can even find one.

Unless you plan to play at official events/local tournaments where it is not allowed. Just proxy the cards.

Just to add, it's really important to not use cheap printing technology or even just images of the card on your mobile device in a friendly setting.
Don't do that.
In time the falcon will return to the shelves and Amazon will have them cheap:)

Now why in the world would you be up to your armpits in TIE Bombers and TIE Advanced(s?)?
Well I love the paint job on the Scum Y-Wing, but I have no interest in Z-95s... so it's either going to be buying 4 boxes or some epic trading 
You could buy an overpriced Falcon, keep the Engine Upgrades, then resell the remainder (being clear about the missing cards in the description) at a small to moderate loss. I did this about 6 months ago, though I got lucky and found one on a retail shelf. I think mine sold for about $10 below the market rate at the time.

I'll probably grab a Slave when I can
I would use Leebo... but I like shuttles.
