Can the crossbow move a target through a elavation red dotted line?
quick please. crossbow question.
No. That's not a valid move for the figure to make. If it were "remove and place" one space away that would be different.
Sweet, thanks. That's how we played it.
when it says remove and place: like the thiefs ability. Can he for example remove his figure and playce it behind a quest rlevant door which is closed?

Don't think so because the core rules say somewhere that spaces to both sides of a door are not adjacent. Such abilities need to count spaces and you can only count spaces along the route as long as they are adjacent.
Ser Folly's answer is correct.
Saved my **** a few times. Only height levels are still considered adjacent which led to a private party between my hybrid sentinels and a lonely thief (think it was Tomble) in one of the LoR quests.
Portcullises and (I think) Overgrowth also permit adjacency and could therefore be moved through via "pick up and replace" effects.
The general condition for pick up and replace effects is that you need to be able to "count spaces" from the origin to the destination, because counting spaces is the only way to determine if the desired destination is within range. Counting spaces requires adjacency of the spaces being counted, one to the next, so things like closed doors that break adjacency will stop you from counting through them. Likewise obstacle spaces, since you can't count through those. But otherwise you can pretty much ignore anything else that would normally stop movement or block LoS.
