Wikia?

By Mikael Hasselstein, in Star Wars: Armada

I'm curious if anyone is already creating an Armada wiki, similar to the one out there for X-Wing .

Obviously, there's a lot we don't know about Armada yet, but I'm happy to help plug in the bits and pieces that we do know. I've done so for X-Wing, and I've even contributed to Wookieepedia on occasion.

Okay, I've created one.

You can find it here: http://starwars-armada.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Armada_Wiki

It's just bare-bones right now with a welcome page and a placeholder page for the Victory-class Star Destroyer, but red links to the Core Set and the expansions. Please feel free to help me develop this.

Awesome! Thanks for starting this up.

wunderbar!!

Update: Okay, I have pages for the core set and all the expansions (even the dice!). Now it's up to you Bothans to find more information from demos here or there or online material, to fill in the blanks.

I have been patrolling youtube for anything new.

Lots of love for Imperial Assault , but so far nothing new for Armada .

Imperial Intelligence needs to get working.

Hm, so that's why so many Bothans died. They were executed Vader-style for their incompetence. Either that, or to give the Emperor's ruse credibility.

I'm not sure how that applies to this game and this Wiki, but... roll with it.

Anyway, thanks for searching about. I did see a Nebulon-B Support Refit image from the Gencon demo. I assume that's from the core set, but it might also be from the expansion.

Imperial Assault has the benefit of having a few boxes sold at Essen, Armada does not.

There are about a dozen videos of Imperial Assault on youtube and other sources, in part because of the mini release in Essen, Armada has yet to gain that level of previews and exposure.

Oh, I didn't know that about Imperial Assault.

The thing is, it's probably good that there's a slow release on this one. It allows us time to take things piecemeal. At this point, I think I have everything I could possibly get in there, unless I get some more intel somewhere.

The closer we come to the release date for Armada the more previews and 'spoilers' we will get.

Which means that Armada will release 1st Qrt of 2015 rather than the end of 4th Qrt 2014.

And yet here I am hoping that its released sooner.

I thank you for starting the Wikia.

I hope that by the time Episode IX is released we will be knee deep in Armada expansions.

You're welcome! I have had a lot of use from the X-Wing wiki, that I'd like to pay it back and forward. Also, it's just neat.

Yeah, I'm not expecting Q4. Also, I'm not sure my wallet will be able to withstand purchases of that magnitude during the holidays.

Yeah, Ep IX feels very far away. X-Wing has also developed over two-three years to it's current point. It seems like Armada is being brought to market more aggressively with seven expansions (and dice) rather than four expansions in the first wave. I'm really curious how it will pan out. I doubt that it will be as popular as X-Wing is because I think X-Wing will be a cheaper alternative while also being established already. Still, I'm optimistic while also being a little hesitant about having enough people to play with. There are a lot of people with a 'wait and see' attitude, and I wonder if there will be enough people taking the plunge to give this the critical mass to get off the ground.

Doing a Wiki seems like an easy way in which we can do our part to help FFG out (provided they see it that way).
