Just wondering: How many got the VT-49 with no lock on tokens?

By eagletsi111, in X-Wing

I just got mine and opened it. No lock on tokens were found inside the box. Not a major issue, but I'm just wondering?

Thanks,

Doesn't seem to come with any (assuming that shows everything, pretty sure MW doesn't). If you didn't get any then it doesn't have any: if they were missing then you'd be missing a whole piece of punchboard.

Interesting! So for a new player who bought this like one if my friends. I he cannot play it this week, unless he brings a lock on token. I will tell him. he is travelling and hoping to play it in a store after he buys it. He better have some lock ons with him :)

Thanks

Check the sheet that comes with it for a component list

From what i remember hearing, the YT-2400 doesnt come with them either.

Maybe theyre assuming most people will already have hundreds of them by now?

If you have the core set, as needed, then you have at least one set of target lock tokens.

That's all my buddy has. He didn't bring it with him where he was going. He found out on saturday there is a game store near him. He thought he could just by the Vt-49 and use it. But I told him he would have to mooch a target lock off of his enemy. Shouldn't be a problem.

If so that will be the first time FFG has ever released a X-Wing expansion without everything you need in it. It's a pretty big departure from how they normally do things.

That's why I was shocked. Yep. I just checked the list of items included. The are not listed for VT-49 or Yt-2400.

I'm fine with that. I have bags upon bags of spare tokens sitting inert in a box in the closet.

Hell, I'm to the point where they could leave out the bases and pegs.

(Dear FFG, not that I'm advocating that you do so.)

He can't play any X-wing without Core anyway, and that has locks in it.

Probably because they've now released 28 different target lock tokens. I have a huge bag of ones I'll never used. I have ten with velcro pads on to keep them together and they've never been too few.

That's kinda cool. I just use rubber bands to keep the pairs together in the token set that I play with. I am thinking about gluing a number of them together so that the same letter shows on both sides.

I thought it would be swell If they allowed you to send back 5 unopened peg and base sets for a discount coupon on an FFG product. Recycling for our good mother Earth? Yes please...especially if I can buy more spaceships! :3

Shouldn't be a problem for most who actually play this game. I've got WAY too many TL tokens already.

Huh. I hadn't realized it until just now, but yeah. Odd...

Wait it doesn't have ID# tombstones!

How can we play?!

I mean what if I have 40 2400s on the table, what do I do?!

Go after FFG with your Lawyer Aces. The high point-value ones don't even suffer stress when doing a K-turn in the logic of their arguments. But, I'm sure that FFG can afford more tie* defenders than you.

*as in the garment, rather than the starfighter type.

Oooh, Lawyer Aces! Will that give Lawyers an EPT slot? It felt wrong them not having access to Ruthlessness, Opportunist and Predator.

It comes with the UCLA Refit.

I imagine that they couldn't fit them on the cardboard and don't want to to add just a target lock punch card in. It's no big thing.

No target locks or ID numbers, frankly I am glad they used the space to give us new type of terrain, I can't see me needing any more of either, looks like their aren't many in the most wanted, only one target lock and no Id which isn't enough for the ships included but you get dials and bases for three more ships, would have liked some bombs in there but there is a lot of card in that pack already. But by the looks of it the Starviper is back to the normal everything you could use.

Sure, I'm just about to the point that I'm not even bothering to punch out anything other then pilot base cards...

But not everyone is going to have access to all 28 TL tokens, and it's always been part of FFG's thing that you get absolutely everything you need in the box.

Perhaps they're making exceptions this time due to the debris fields, but they could of stopped putting TL's in Wave 4 and I doubt many would of had an issue.

As long as it is not the ACLU refit!

At this point, with owning almost every expansion, they are not needed, or wanted. The box does say it requires the core set.

"First they came for the TL's and I did not speak out because I fly Tie Swarms..."

**** you Asmodee! :P
