Sensor Jammer and FAQ 2.2

By Mnemonaut, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the game and I was wondering if the new FAQ and the new "Dice Results" rules (p. 8) have any impact on the Sensor Jammer upgrade? Is the opponent allowed to switch back the eye result of his modified attack roll (which was switched from hit to eye result with Sensor Jammer) with a focus token?

Thanks!

Yes. Since defender modifies attack dice before the attacker, the defender uses sensor jammer and then afterwards the attacker can spend a focus to switch the {eye} -> {hit}. Note the attacker can still use a target lock to re-roll any remaining attack dice.

That clause changes evade tokens and how they are treated. They are now considered dice results and will no longer work against autoblasters.

The Sensor Jammer card changes one of your opponents hits into an eye, but he cannot change it with a target lock or reroll ability. He can modify it with a focus token back into a hit.

SJ works really well when your opponent doesn't have a focus token. It also works if you want to force him to spend it so that some of your other ships can attack him in return and he'll have a harder time defending.

I see. Thanks for the explanation. :)
