Is the new Debris Cloud usable in Tournament play? How is it used in Casual play?
It says that it is used as an Obstacle with the following exceptions, but there is no reference to 'obstacles' in the Tournament rules, just 'Asteroids'.

Until the Tournament Rules are updated to include them, they aren't usable in tournaments.
Debris clouds count as 'Obstacles' for purposes of measuring range and performing maneuvers and actions. So no barrel rolling into them and Stunned Pilot still triggers. Things like that. Otherwise the restriction that a ship may not fire while on an obstacle does not apply to them. You still roll an attack die against yourself but instead of taking any hit or crit results shown you take only critical hits shown. And most importantly you must assign a stress token to the ship that flies through or lands on the debris field AFTER the Check Pilot Stress step. Meaning you still get your action.

If you've just received a stress token after the Check Stress step, it means you will be stressed before the Perform Action step, so you won't get your action.
If you execute a green maneuver that takes you through debris cloud, you will still get to remove an existing stress token in the Check Pilot step, but then you have to put it straight back on again for flying through the debris cloud.
Edited by ParravonAlso, fun fact, if you don't have a stress and perform a red maneuver through or onto a debris cloud you can still do it. You get assigned the stress after you've done your maneuver.
And a second one for doing a red through the debris - end result TWO stress tokens. It wouldn't be the smartest option to plan a red into a debris cloud.
Oh right. Good catch. I had been perusing the rule slip from the outrider just hours earlier and thought that was why they highlighted it. Derp. And I've played with them before so I should have known better. We followed the rules right then. Brain fart. Thanks Big P.
I havent seen the 2400 yet but to double check t\when seeiing if you move throuogh the debris cloud you use where the template sits corract?

The base only matters if you stop on it. Other than that it is all template.
thanks
