Galadriel
The Hero Championship 2014
Oh seems to be a close final
Wouldn't have expected that final and I'm still sad that so many good (especially tactics!!!) heroes got knocked of so early but thats how it is. In this final I really am unsure how to vote for. Galadriel is fresh and new and I really like her but Elrond has stand the tights of time so well that my vote will go to him. He needs some setup to be played but once you have it you get soooooooooooo much value out of it! Insane.
So vote goes to Elrond!
Elrond
Elrond. Although this is a tricksy one, Precious! I have simply not had enough time with Galadriel to get a feel for her. Elrond, however, have passed the test of time. Either way - two great heroes in the final.
Hm. This is a tough decision . . . mother-in-law versus son-in-law. A family feud! I think I'll have to write out my thoughts.
Galadriel - very new, yes, but simply awesome. Great art (who can deny that?) and with interesting limitations. With Nenya, she can *quest* for four, the only hero to have a printed four willpower besides Eowyn. Also, she can have consistent threat reduction/card draw. Extremely versatile and can fit in a number of decks.
Elrond - the first hero to break the twelve-threat-cost barrier, and so lives up to it. Amazing stats, can do everything decently (or more so!) and he is the Lord of Rivendell. He can play allies from any sphere AND heal additional points of damage when healing cards are used. Vilya just makes him even better. Not as versatile as Galadriel because of his threat, but aggro is the new way to go (see Hall of Beorn for proof!).
Final Verdict: (dramatic music) (Loooooooong build up . . .) Elrond. He can just do everything and more. Although if this were a favorite character contest, I would choose Galadriel. But, in this case, Elrond all the way!

Um... How should I put this... People here vote for their favorite characters mostly, regardless of usability and stuff. Many different reasons, this contest is not restricted.
Hmm. I'm a swing voter on this one. Let's hear some campaigning for your favorite hero!
Galadriel

I wouldn't say "mostly". I'm sure many people use favorite characters as a factor, but I doubt that it's the main factor. After all, it's a hero championship, not a character championship.
Anyway, I'll have to vote for Elrond, even with my ridiculous infatuation with Galadriel lately.
Quote from the original post:
"Vote for your favorite hero as they enter their match-ups in the responses below. Vote on whatever criteria you desire."
There is no strict rules, that's why I'm surprised people throw off their favorite heroes in favor of someone who just happens to be designed more versatile and stuff.
I define favorite hero differently than favorite character. Fav hero refers to the hero card that you love to use often. Fav character refers to the character in the story. I would agree that most people vote for favorite heroes, but the favorite character factor probably comes up less often.
I assume Elves of Ithilien was saying Galadriel is a favorite story character, not a favorite hero.
The border is transperent.
I've never been much of a fan of Elrond. He does too much, so I never feel clever when I build a good Elrond deck. They all play fairly similarly. He overshadows whichever other heroes with which he is paired.
Galadriel, however, is a great support character--when built well, decks with her feel so synergistic and fun. She supports your other hero choices.
So I vote Galadriel.
Elrond

difficult ... but sincer I have more games with Elrond and trust him a lot, i will go for the lord of Rivendell
Elrond it is
Galadriel
Galadriel -
She's the new hotness, she's more powerful (in the Lore) than Elrond, her art is better (sorry Magali and WAY to GO Magali!) and I think she's a much more interesting hero to play than Elrond. She has a wider range of abilities and I feel like it takes more thought to play her than Elrond. I think Galadriel is better balanced than Elrond.
Galadriel. Nothing quite like her and not in an overpowered, obvious way. Feels like a true support character while still pulling her weight and it matches her role in the books perfectly.
Cate Blanchett.... oops I mean Galadriel.
Galadriel. Elves FTW apparently. ![]()
I'll have to vote Elrond!!
I've had more time to play with him and he's just so great. Allies are about my favorite to play so I love him because of that, and as I've sad he actually is one of the best defenders, especially with healers out.. yeah.
Go Elrond! ![]()
Elrond
Between those two, I pick Galadriel. Pretty powerful (as Elrond), but fits more easily in decks, unlike Elrond who requires much tweaking (plus his high threat is a killler). Simply put, Galadriel is the better fit to a much higher number of decks than the lord of Rivendell.

And yet we all find room for Gandalf. ![]()
