Consider the following:
Chewbacca
Tanky and deadly. What's not to love?
Only that the Experimental Interface on Chewie can't do anything in that build.
Also, you probably want to squeeze the Outrider title onto Leebo if he has the HLC.

Not necessarily, hlc with 2 dice turret is nothing to sneeze at. I'd jam a draw thier fire in this list, force your opponent to split up the damage.
I like the overall idea. Seems incredibly defensive, but like Gibarian said, the EI is wasted (cannot trigger anything), so I would drop EI, drop HLC on Leebo, and drop Jan and throw in a bandit just for another gun... OR you could drop EI and Jan for the outrider title...either way...seems like a fun list.
I love pilots at mid PS...especially 5. ![]()

Experimental Interface.... doesn't grab the Evade from the Millennium Falcon Title.
Derp.

I considered both options you mentioned.
I really don't like Outrider + HLC on anyone but Dash. Having the Doughnut means you'll be super-reliant on your barrel-roll to get shots, and even moderate asteroid fields will prevent that.
Attempt no. 2:
Chewbacca
On Chewbacca, an active Lone Wolf gives Chewbacca as strong an offense he'd have with Predator, excepting against low PS swarms. However, it gives him the added benefit of getting to re-roll his die on defense as well. More tankiness!
On Leebo, Lando + EI definitely works. Barrel Roll, Target Lock, or Focus, followed by taking a stress for a very interesting curve of additional defense... I can see it working very well.
If you don't like the stress, you could go with Recon Spec and Countermeasures instead, or simply Countermeasures on both birds.
Edited by DraconPyrothayanI'm a huge advocate of Lando + EI, though haven't played with them...just seems like it would be an awesome gamble.
However, you still have nothing to trigger EI on Chewie AND EI is unique...you can only have one. ![]()
Well, I'm derping now, you mentioned EI on chewie but it wasn't included in your points, so please disregard. ![]()
As to actually provide feedback on the build, now that the glitches are out of the way, here it is:
I love how Leebo can barrel roll into a better position to use HLC and then trigger EI to use Lando...giving him a random assortment of tokens (hopefully). Seems very exciting.
The Lone Wolf on Chewie is a nice touch for offense/defense, but it does mean your tactics change. You have to put a lot of focus into your maneuvers should you wish to consistently trigger it. However, don't let it completely deter you from gaining a superior position. Throughout the course of the game, Leebo seems like the easiest to take down first...less total HP/defense and he's probably a higher priority target with that HLC. That being said, Lone Wolf on Chewie after Leebo is gone will be pretty slick.
Sounds really fun to play!
Added bonus...no donuts to worry about. If someone gets in Range 1 of Leebo he's rocking 3 attack dice.

Way I see it, Leebo's Barrel Roll enables Lone Wolf AND the HLC.
If neither of those benefits from it, his action is likely to be: Target Lock (if I need the damage), Focus (if I need the defense) or Lando (if I need to not take a green maneuver next turn).
So, I'll go on the record and say that Leebo is a little less survivable than Chewbacca. Of course, his turret's only got 2 attack dice and no native re-rolls, so his damage is also a little less.
And he's still more survivable than a Firespray, so the enemy will still have to fight for it.
Yeah, there is nothing wrong with Leebo's Defense there. Lando + Determination + Pilot Ability could keep him around for awhile....not to mention his Barrel rolling. Good point about Barrel roll helping set up Lone Wolf. Just don't choose poor positioning in favor of triggering Lone Wolf...it may not be worth it in some instances.
Going against that list I would still try to get Leebo down first....but who wants to deal with a super tanky chewie in the end game? It's a tough call for your opponent.

One of the best things about this combo is that it gets better against swarms.
Y'see, when you have fewer attack dice, Leebo will cancel more hits.
Hits cancel before Crits, and therefore Crits will be canceled less often.
Leebo likes getting hit with Crits, as he has a very high chance of turning them into 0 damage.
His worst match-up is probably Alpha Strike lists.
