when defending can you re-roll a dice for every time your attacked or does it work more like focus you can use it when attacking or defending?

You may re-roll 1 die per enemy ship at range 1. Additionally, you may re-roll 1 blank if there are no friendlies at range 1-2.

Neither ability says "Once per turn", so it's every time you're attacked.

However, you may not re-roll the same die twice in the same attack.

Yep, so for clarification, if you are rolling two evades and you have two ships at range 1 of you, Lone Wolf is basically void as it's giving you a third re-roll you cant use (at that moment)
