I've just been wanting to try out Rexler and a generic phantom for a while. managed to fit it into one list.

This is the list I have been trying, comes out to 97 points.

Rexler Brath: Expose, concussion missiles, heavy laser cannon, engine upgrade

Echo: Veteran Instincts, Advanced sendsors, Advanced Cloaking Device, Rebel Captive.

I like the defenders white K-turn followed with a boost from the engine upgrade. This is gives you the same amount of ships, both at piolot skill 8.

I think the reason why named phantoms work so well is that you have a single powerful flanker backed by a resilient base (such as 3 or 4 academy pilots which are 6-8 firepower attached to 9-12 hull with an mean average agility of 3). You got the base of fire to get in there and take up fire and deal out attacks while the flanker can focus on vital targets and act as a scalpel who in order to neutralize will take a considerable amount of firepower from the base of fire that is pounding them.

Having single a tank/damage with 2 flankers might not be that strong of a formation. Unless you can work some envelopment strategies but that is still tricky to do especially on a 3' x 3' playing area.

You realize that Expose ONLY works on Primary weapon Attacks right? And if you use it, you won't be using Brath's ability (which requires a focus token)

Well I flew this list exactly as it is last night.

My opponent was trying out his own gimmicky list though. He had 3 Blue Squadron B-Wings, each had FCS, APT, and Ion Cannon.

He managed to kill one Phantom, bring the second down to 1 heath, and Brath went untouched. He wasn't even shot at.

I can't judge how good my list is from that encounter, but I feel like the sigmas are super super vulnerable, though they did put out massive damage for me.
