The potential is two tokens for just 1 stress. Put him on a ship that flies somewhat predictably anyways... like a falcon. Screw 3-peo. Lando and falcon title should give 2 evade, and if you´re worried that wont do, then add the golden robot for possible 4 evades on a round. Gunner is preferred though along with PTL (to acquire the stress).

The odds are

1/9 for no tokens

4/9 for 1 token

4/9 for 2 tokens.

So in a 9 turn game Lando will wiff once. Not too shabby I´d say. Besides I like gambling, as I trust it even out over the course of a game... or 10 :-) gambling is huge in this octa-dice game anyways, so why not tilt it a bit more? :-)

Lando could be put on a B-wing too I guess for even better effect than 3-Peo?

it's going to get expensive with E.I or PTL (6 points), but it would be funny on Ibtisam (Lando + PTL + Mod for 7, most likely up to 10 for sensors in case of bumpage for a total of 38...super fat)

It´ll be bad when he wiffs 3 in a row... just remember that THAT scenario is a string of 27 rolls, so should be amazing when you play entire games with doubles. ;-)

The big problem with Lando will be that you've got a 35.7% chance of getting an Evade token, a 25% chance of getting a focus and 37.5% chance of getting nothing on each die. That makes the tokens from Lando a little too unpredictable. Falcons don't really have much of a use for more than one focus token per round unless they are getting attacked from range three.

Lando should work better with PTL than he does with EI. PTL will let you make your Lando roll and then make your action choice based off of what tokens you got from Lando. EI forces you to pick your action before knowing what the results from Lando will be. Jan Ors should also pair nicely with Lando as she'll get you a little more control over what tokens you end up with in a given round.

I've been running Lando on the Outrider. He does well but you can always count on blacks when you need him the most. I've ruled blanks with him two or the turns in a row also, not good.

Ahhh I have miscalculated.... In my eagerness I´ve computed 2 blanks instead of 3. Oh well.... :S

But the question still remains - is Lando + EI fatter than 3-peo? And - worth the Investment?

I think Jan Ors, Recon Specialist, PTL, and the MF title will more consistently give you 2 evades and a focus than any combination that uses Lando.

3PO is cheap and adds consistency. A second evade token every round is better than 3PO but will likely cost you more points, be susceptible to action denial and cost you a stress. 3PO only fills one of your two crew slots so you'd be able to still be able to take a second crew member that can bolster either your offense or make increase your defense even more.
