Tactitian + Gunner

By shakedown47, in X-Wing

Apologies if this has come up before, I'm at work and unable to spend much time perusing threads via the search function. I was building lists in my head and I thought of using Tactician + Gunner to throw out stress on two different ships.

Of course if you miss with the first attack and target the same ship with the second attack, that ship will take 2 stress tokens (assuming range 2 of course.) My question is, can you target a different enemy ship with the second attack? I don't have the rulebook with me, so I'm unsure if there's anything in it regarding only being able to pick a single enemy ship as your target each turn.

Basically I'm thinking of running two defenders with an ion each, and an omicron with tactician and gunner. To set up a kill turn, I could use the shuttle's target lock to ensure a miss on the first target, then use gunner to fire at a second target, both of which would take stress. Then the defenders swoop in and ionize a stressed target each, locking it up for next round.

Yep no problem with that as long as in front arc at range 2 then pass that stress to two ships

Yes you can, I use that often.

Yes, you gan target a different ship with the gunner attack if the first misses.

Thanks everyone!

With the increased interest in dealing out stress (B-Wings with tactician at Worlds) I've been thinking something similar. Especially as when flying the Pearly Interstellar Tamaraw, I often find that despite having a Target Lock from the Fire Control System I've not got any targets within my firing arc. I'm thinking that the stress caused by the Tactician (especially as it can generate two tokens a turn) at least gives you a chance to get the target ship back in arc.

I also tend to find most of my targets are at least at range 2!
