Were there any E-wings/Defenders used at the Worlds finals?

By BCooper85, in X-Wing

I've watched a fair few videos on youtube and read up on stuff and neither are ever mentioned!

I'm assuming it's because they are expensive and people see Phantoms and Fat Han as the better options?

In any case it's a shame and I hope they find their place.

I believe there were some named E-wings used, although I don't think any defenders made the cut. I don't know how high the E-wings got in the rounds, either.

In one of the Worlds videos from FFG you can see Corran Horn being used to good effect against a swarm + shuttle list, if I remember correctly.

That video was Nathan Eide who made it into the last sixteen I believe. I believe he was flying with R2-D2 + Engine Upgrade + Fire Control Sysytem + Shield Upgrade + PtL (iirc).

Nathan Eide with Corran nearly beat Paul Heaver, and would have in a game without time limits. Paul had to run away with his badly hurt Han to win on MoV.

I am surprised that there weren't any defenders.

The two Corran lists were really different.

We know there were 2 squads with Defenders in Flight 1 thanks to Hothie's report. Both Vessery. I believe he faced the second squad at the end, meaning that it did quite well to get to the higher tables.

Played against a list with Corran, and another match against Vessery. Was in Flight One. Didn't see any generics
