I want to make sure I understand squad leader correctly. I have squad leader assigned to Cracken. He moves at pilot level 8, after he moves he gives a free action to say Wes Janson who has not moved yet. Janson is equiped with Expert handling and R2, Janson can then use expert handling to barrel roll before he moves since the card says immediatly, then he can move doing a green manuaver to get rid of the stress from the expert handling and then do his normal action. Or does the free action have to wait until after Jansons move? thanks all.
Squad leader card
Cracken can't give Janson an action using Squad Leader because Janson is not a lower Pilot Skill than Cracken.
If the receiving pilot was a lower Pilot Skill than Cracken, then yes you could do exactly as you describe.
Thanks all.
Yeah, being able to pass an "advanced sensors" action to another ship would be awesome, but even with enhanced scopes it isn't possible.
Currently, there is no way for a pilot to perform a green maneuver after getting an action from Squad Leader.
Yes I started thinking about it my way home from work and determined it was a nice idea, but not workable, oh well back to the drawing board. Thanks for the comments.

There is. Xwing with R2 astromech performing Daredevil as the action from squadleader

Pretty sure that doesn't work, for the same reason that Daredevil received errata: you only perform the maneuver, not the other steps associated with it in the Maneuver Phase (ie. check stress, action step, etc).
Besides, Daredevil would give you the stress right back, anyway, so you're not getting anywhere even if it does work.

it works, R2 turns it green, similar to how ionized movements are also green if you have R2
Just that in the case of Daredevil, you would get the stress back right away due to the errata

R2 doesn't turn ionized manuevers green, I believe you are confusing him with the Nien Numb.

Experimental Interface makes it possible.
... or not. Hmmm.

Duraham is referring to the R2 Astromech (so confusing having them an Artoo so popular), which does work.
But that's not my point. The ion maneuver is still performed in the Maneuver Phase, so you go through the usual process (check stress, perform action, etc). If you perform an action outside of the Maneuver Phase you don't do any of that, which was why Daredevil didn't give stress in it's original form and why you wouldn't take off a stress using it with R2 Astromech.

Check the FAQ: "If ship is ionized, R2 Astromech’s ability does make the white [ 1] maneuver green."

Actually there is. It's incredibly convoluted, depends on having the right ruling to a game-breaking situation, and will probably never happen in a real game, but it exists.
Ships: green squadron pilot with VI, green squadron pilot with VI and SL, gamma squadron pilot with proximity mine.
At PS 3 nobody does anything, because nobody is PS 3.
At PS 4 the bomber moves and drops a proximity mine on the first a-wing, inflicting the "ignore your pilot ability and EPTs" crit.
At PS 5 the second a-wing activates, and passes a free action to the first a-wing, which is now only PS 3.
At the end of the activation phase you have to go back and activate the first a-wing since it missed its normal initiative step, and the rules for the activation phase state that you have to activate ALL ships. The first a-wing now performs a green maneuver and its normal action.

I checked the FAQ and you are correct. Was that changed? I could have sworn the R2 didn't make an ion move green due to the lack of revealing a dial. Or maybe I just always played it wrong. Either way thank you for pointing that out.

doesn't work, the crit will take effect on the next round, not the current round

has been like this since wave 1

You're thinking of damaged cockpit (PS 0 after the current round), I'm talking about injured pilot (ignore pilot ability and EPTs) which takes effect immediately.
What an interesting situation. Curious how that works now.
aaand, email sent to Frank. We'll see what he says.
Edited by ForgottenloreClosest I can imagine is enhanced scopes, which allows you to activate with pilot skill 0, so whisper could activate, then squad leader - but, it probably kills squad leader because you treat your p.s. As 0... Hrm,.,,

I am afraid that it would not work. Yes, the move is turned green. However, this has no effect since the "check pilot stress" step is part of the activation phase and is not triggered by the maneuver itself (core rule book, page 7). This was one of the reasons why daredevil had an errata.
EDIT: also, Tycho is the only one who can take an action while stressed in the first place and he can't equip an R2 (not that he would need to, the guy's day job is really stressful
).
