Taking the Hobbits on an Adventure

By Tyberius_Deangelo, in Strategy and deck-building

Hello LOTR gamers,

I am thinking about trying Lore Pipin, Merry, and Sam as the heroes in a deck yet to be constructed through a solo campaign play through of TBR and TRD. I am worried about the quests in TRD, especially, since the Hobbits are fragile in hit points. I wanted to ask the community how their hobbit decks has done with these quests overall before I set out this weekend on an adventure to destroy the Ring at Mount Doom. Thanks everyone!

I have had very good sucess with this list in campaign mode:

Sam

Merry

Pippin (Lore)

Bill the Pony ×3

Haldir of Lorien ×3

Gildor Inglorian ×3

Gandalf (Over Hill) x2

Barliman Butterbur x2

Elf Stone x3

Rivendell Blade x3

Dagger of Westerness x3

Hobbit Cloak x3

Fast Hitch x3

Steward of Gondor x2

Dunedain Warning x2

Daeon's Runes x3

Radagahst's Cunning x3

Peace and Thought x3

Foe-Hammer x3

Feint x3

Frodo's Intuition x3

I have taken it through all the Black Rider quests many times and have so far played through the first 2 Road Darkens quests (needless to say this deck runs from the Balrog). I have been meaning to play through breaking of the fellowship with it but have been too busy playing with Galadriel!

I have yet to update the deck with Roaad Darkens cards but I plan on adding 2 Boromir and 2 Fellowship of the Ring. I am waiting to play it vs Old Forest and Barrow Downs before making any changes.

Those three heroes work well together for the Black Riders quests. (I haven't played the two PoDs.). The decks need Hail of Stones IMO to handle Bill Ferney though.

Get OHaUH Gandalf a staff and some of the other Gandalf goodies from TRD and you won't even need heroes ;)
