Anyone heard when the next round of store championship games is suppose to start?
Store championship games?
They start in January, but afaik there isn't a posted list yet.
Stores have already been notified if they've been selected to host. It's up to them to schedule the Store Championship sometime between Jan-March 2015.
The stores in So. California are coordinating dates so there's minimal (if any) championships on the same day.
A list would be very appreciated. Especially for the Australian X-wing scene.
If it is true that all stores have been notified, then unfortunately my LGS didn't get a Store Championship this year. We were hoping it would, as it did last year. Sigh.

Is it a competitive thing to be chosen, or does the store just have to buy the box and get enough entry fees to hopefully earn their dime back?

Only US stores have been told. Australian stores find out very late. Good Games is the Australian supplier for X-Wing, and when US stores get told they have one, Good Games Distributors(and presumably other internationals) get told "You have X for your distribution zone" and then they do their own selections [atleast that's how I was told it worked for the 2014 season]

Ah Fair enough.
I'm surprised at that slightly though. As Aus stores (at least 2 I know of) already know and are advertising their SW:LCG SC's. I would've figured that all FFG's SC would've been organised around the same time.
Obviously that's not the case.

From how I understand it, stores have to apply for the chance to host a store championship for any of FFG's games. Past that, then they have to buy into the kits and so on.
I remember it being mentioned by a few store owners I coordinated with in our area last year that the kits are more expensive than the regular OP kits - I think they jump to 50 bucks or so since they have a plaque and the prestige of the goodies is typically better. I kind of want that dice bag in this one this year, not going to lie. That plaque would be rad too.
