So, I've decided to do some more mini-rig stats. For those of you who don't know what mini-rigs are, they're small toys Kenner made for the classic Star Wars line back in the 1980s. They were vehicles that could conceivably have been used in the Star Wars movies off-screen, and I personally think some of the designs are pretty neat. I've also wanted some practice homebrewing stats, and this seemed like a good place to start. This time around, I'm statting out the MTV-7, which would appear to be an Imperial scout vehicle. It looks like this:
MTV-7
Silhouette 2
Speed 2
Handling 0
Defense 0 for all quadrants
Armor 1
Hull 5
Strain 4
Hull Type/Class: Groundcar/MTV-7
Manufacturer: ???
Hyperdrive: None
Navicomputer: None
Sensor Range: Close
Ship’s Complement: One pilot
Encumbrance Capacity: 6
Passenger Capacity: None
Consumables: Two weeks
Price/Rarity: 8,000 credits, ® 6
Customization Hard Points: 1
Weapons: Auto-Blaster [Fire Arc: Forward, Dmg 3, Crit 5, Range [Close], Auto-fire]
So, for the MTV-7 I again started with the stats Keith Kappel used for the ISP-6 in the Age of Rebellion GM screen as a baseline. The MTV-7 is somewhat fast, but I would think a speeder bike could probably beat it in a race, which is why I gave it a speed rating of 2. The MTV-7 looks like it is more maneuverable than your standard tank vehicle like the MLC-3 mini-rig, but I wouldn't say it is maneuverable enough to give it a bonus. It has minimal armor--the vehicle looks like it was more designed for rapid deployment and scouting, not to take a hit. This is also why I didn't give it much hull or strain. For weapons, the MTV-7's blaster gun doesn't seem to be as large or powerful as either the ISP-6's or the MLC-3's. On the other hand, I do think that a lightweight scouting vehicle like this would probably have an auto-blaster. It would make sense when engaging infantry.
