What do you guys think of these new cards?
Edited by Jonnyb815Hes a beast at range 1-2 rolling a couple of red dice. Him vs Vader would be an interesting fight
If you're damaged and need repairs, choose the surge-heavy dice. Recovery 3 is kinda huge! At only 12pts, I think we'll see him in several competitive squads.
Hehe, this is going to be fun.
how does assault work?
how does assault work?
Each figure has 2 actions on its turn, but only 1 of those actions may be an attack; the other has to be movement, or interactions with doors/crates, etc. But a character with the Assault action can spend both of his actions to make attacks.
I dont know what else to add, but this list looks fun
Elite Imperial Officer (5)
IG 88 (12) (Cross over points 1)
gives you 22 points of non elites to play with
I can confirm that Range 2 + 2 Red Dice is a LOT of fun as my wife and son realised the other day during the campaign All I had to do, if able, was get out of range and hence do the surge-healing and it would have been fantastic. I'm looking forward to IG-88 in Skirmish mode.

why not second Elite Imperial Officer?

You cant have more then 2 elites in a skirmish army
Yes you can just not more than two of the same name for elite or four of the same general type.
Edit I thought it was Max two elite and four gen then reread the rules.
That being said I would go with
IG 88 12
Royal Guard 8
Royal Guard 4
Elite Officer 10 x2
Officer 4 x2
Temp 1
39 pts
Or
IG 88 12
Gen Weiss 16
Elite Officer 5
Officerx3 6
Upgrade 1
40pts
Could go with one Royal guard for protection.

Name Restriction:
army is limited to a number of Deployment cards with the
same name
as follows:
- Maximum of 1 of each unique Deployment card. These cards are identified by a bullet before the name (for example, “• Darth Vader”).
- Maximum of 2 of each elite (red) Deployment card.
- Maximum of 4 of each regular (gray) Deployment card.
oh that changes things quite a bit.... I was thinking there was a max of 6 units.... well then, maybe i will also look into a massive Hunter army
24 points for 2 elite Nexu and 3 regulars Nexu
+ 14 points for 2 regular Trandosians.
Lots of Bleeding/ discarding effects, we will just have to see how powerful those command cards are....
You could drop 1 regular Trandos, and then add IG 88
20 points of Nexu
+19 points of IG 88/trando
Edited by TorresseI don't fully understand Pounce. Can someone break it down for me?
I get you use an action to move him extra squares then attack what I don't get is that he is a melee attacker.

The simplest bit I can think of to explain it would be you could attack someone right infront of you, then pounce to someone who is within the 3 square distance limit (and can fit just fine) and attack them too.
I see it in the same category as Assault (attacks can be made twice) or Brutality (do two attacks but second has to be against a second target). Pounce though is a lot of fun as long as you have the room.

Not sure if you can use pounce to attack twice, It does look like you can use Pounce to move and attack without spending an action to attack. You can use pounce to jump over a wall or something crazy like that.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Imperial and Bounty Hunters are different factions. IG-88 is NOT Imperial, therefore you can't take him into skirmish with royal guards and such
There is a 1 point upgrade you can purchase to include 2 Mercenaries into your imperial force. The mercenaries can take the same unique card and add 2 rebels into their force. The rebels have no such upgrade
IG-88 is a beast!
If IG-88 is that scary, then Boba Fett should make the Rebels podo themselves all over their pants.

Yes but the rule book says Pounce is used as an attack action so you cant attack, attack.
I get that you move then use pounce since the rules say Pounce is an attack action. My question is if Pounce is like Reach just four squares vs 2 or uses Range or if you have to be adj to the target to attack?
From the preview I am thinking its like Reach just uses more squares thoughts ?
Edited by Jonnyb815When you Pounch you "jump"/move to anywhere within 3 spaces and if you are adjacent to an enemy you may attack it. Its more like a Charge than a Reach action
I do not know if this counts as your one attack action or if you can attack and then pounce to attack again.
love IG88.
of more import to me were the words "in our next preview."
If we still waiting for previews, we gonna be waiting longer for the game
