4 more points to spend...

By RexlarBrath, in X-Wing

I was building a rebel squad and I was trying to build around "hobbie" and stuck to the classic XXY builds that have been around since wave 1. So far my squad is:

"Dutch" vander (23)

Ion cannon turret (5)

Flechette torpedoes (2)

Flechette torpedoes (2)

R7-T1 (3)

Munitions failsafe (1)

"Hobbie" klivian (25)

R2-D6 (2)

Opportunist (4)

Garven dreis (26)

R2-D2 (4)

Total: 96

I'm not really sure what to do with the last 4 points I was thinking proton torpedoes on hobbie. I was also wondering what everyone thinks of r2d2 on garven, I only put him on there cause I didn't know what else to do. And munitions failsafe I could see taking off just for the 99 point initiative bid or 5 points to add somewhere else. One last correction when I keep adding this up im getting 97 im not sure what happened with the squad builder can anyone else let me know what they get from this, thank you.

R2-D6 is only 1 point. You are listing him as being 2. That's why it isn't adding up.

I don't see what you gain from having a 4 point initiative bid with this build. You don't have any high or low initiative pilots that really benefit from you getting to choose who has initiative. You'd probably be better off tossing a Shield Upgrade, Engine Upgrade, or even a Proton Torpedo on one of the Xs.

EDIT: Seems like the whole point of the thread is where to spend those points. Ignore what I said about the initiative bid.

One of those x-wings could do with an engine upgrade I reckon...

I'd go a whole different angle and drop Garven, R2D2, and some Flachettes and use the extra points for 3 Bandits.

I think I'd like R3-A2 on Hobbie over R2-D6 and Opportunist, especially in a list that has a Y-Wing throwing out flechettes and Ions. It seems like R3-A2 and Hobbie were made for each other in the same way that Tarn and R7 were. I'm not sure how often you'll to use Opportunist but you'll be able to use R3-A2 every time you shoot.

If you switch that out that'll leave you 7 points to spend. Maybe Hull on Hobbie and a Shield on Garven?

Or drop the torps off Dutch and the droid and you can fit a Bandit.

The Fletchette's are nice, but I don't see them as being necessary with the ICT. The ICT can control better than the torps can.

Switch Hobbie to R3-A4. That gives you 7 extra.

Drop Munitions Failsafe and the torps from Dutch and that gives you 12.

Pick up a Bandit and now you've got yourself a stew.
