Attention listbuilder authors - an idea/request

By JaceDK, in X-Wing

Hi Voidstate, Fab and co.

First off, a big thank you for your fabulous tools, without which i could not even imagine playing the game. You guys rock!

I just thought of a feature I would like to see in listbuilders: Saving favorit ship configurations.

For instance, you could add C3P0, EU, Falcon title and Gunner to Han Solo, then click save and label the build "Fat Han". Then, the next time I want to build a Fat Han list, I can select that particular combination of ship and upgrades with a single click instead of building it from scratch every time.

Thank you in advance, and keep up the good work.

Cool idea.

I have some 'stock upgrades' to use an oxymoron.

Would make things a little quicker.

What i'd like most though is an 'unrestricted' build tab that allowed you to choose *anything* , originally this was to make building pirate lists pre S&V spoiling but it would still be handy for scenario lists.

Lets imagine you want to do a mission where the rebels are trying to get a stolen lambda away from the imperials... at the mo you'd have to make two lists. A 77 point rebel list and say a 23 point imprerial one. An 'unrestricted' build option would allow you to throw in 'out of faction' ships every now and then and would ,i imagine, be *very* easy to implement as you just lump everything done to date into a new fourth 'non faction'.

I know most people wouldnt use it but for a few of us it would be really handy.

For example I want to proxy the Cr90 i have as imperial. At the mo i cant do that withouth a second list.

Could be useful. Save as a bunch.

I'm moving away from stock choices though. Im finding that the champions understand the game better and use more unusual combinations. Glad about that. Though the meta lists and fat Han are still a thing

This is already possible in voidstate. Start a squadron and add one ship with all the stuff you want on it. Then save. Whenever you want to use it as the base to a list, go into your squadron manager and duplicate that list and start from there.

As for the specific solution you want, I don't see it ever happening. The amount of work compared to the benefit is significant. I could see the "unrestricted" build option becoming a thing though.

You can do this in BattleScribe.

In the android version:

Add a ship and upgrades as desired, then tap and hold until it selects the entry. You can then tap the star in the top right corner and that ship configuration is saved as a favourite and appears as it's own entry unter the ship type. You can change the name of the entry too.

Indeed you guys are doing a great job.

I'd like to see an option for a super compressed fleet roster.

Something like this for example:

Omicron pilot group, Darth Vader. 24
Gamma squadron, proximity mine. 19
Gamma squadron, proximity mine. 19
Bounty hunter, recon specialist, seismic charge. 38

This would be help me with showing a list on the smartphone, Facebook or even for tournament organizers to fast check lists.

You can do this in BattleScribe. BattleScribe lets you add ships from different factions to one list - just add each faction you want to use to you list as a "force." I haven't put much into supporting this because it isn't legal by the rules, but it works. The one thing it won't do right now is enforce uniqueness across factions - if you have a mixed Rebel/Scum list and one pilot from each faction has Squad Leader, it won't recognize that as illegal. It also won't let you add upgrades across factions - so no Rebel only crew on your Scum Firespray. With those restrictions in mind, especially for scenarios and "fun" play, BattleScribe works great for this.

BattleScribe does this too! The newest version (1.15.00) released last Friday has a ton of customization available for how your roster displays. By turning off profiles and rules in the display, you can get a super condensed roster view that easily fits on your cell display without any scrolling.
