Cave Troll/Hydra + normal enemie etc

By Velhart, in Talisman Rules Questions

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering about something.

If you draw 2 enemies and one is a cave troll or hydra, and another is a normal enemie etc.

We all know that they fight as one enemie.

But the question is:

The cave troll mentions that if he is defeated and roll a 1/2 he regenates and the attack is a stand-off.

If this happens, is it then also a stand-off for the second enemie that you defeated because they fight as one enemie...

Hello,

I addressed talismanamsilat with a similar question regarding the Living Statue. He answered that if you win the combat roll against multiple Enemies and a card effect turns the attack into a stand-off, the effect counts only for the Enemy with that Ability (Cave Troll, Hydra or Living Statue if you have no Magic Weapons). Other Enemies are killed and may be kept as trophies.

Still waiting for the FAQ!

Oke thanks !

I hope this will not become a problem in the future.

I must still think about the dark cultist, who fights 2 enemies but get's only one bonus because they fight as one...

And now he seperate them by not combining the generating effect,,,

But then again... it would also be weird if the other enemie revives too so we get different rules for different situations pff

And how about enemies which have special ability that applies before or during battle? Do they fight together as one creature that has both abilities?

Because their combining can be sometimes confusing:

If I draw for example Trapper (Strength: 2. Roll 2 dice. If the result is equal to or less than your Craft, you may evade the Trapper. If it is higher, you must fight him, but you may not roll a die for your attack roll.) and Goblin Trapsmith (Strength: 1. A Goblin Trapsmith uses his net to entagle his victims. You must roll 1 extra die for your attack roll and use the lowest result.)

Do I evade Goblin Trapsmith either when I roll equal or less than my Craft then? And how many dice do I roll in a battle with those two monsters?

That question is already been answerd cool.gif

If you cannot evade the trapper or you choose for not evading him, then you may not roll a die when fighting the trapper and the goblin trapper !

If you evade the trapper, then you must encounter the goblin trapsmith !

I see.

And this applies generally then?

If I draw Mummy and Crone and lose, I lose 2 lives AND become a toad?

I am not sure about what the mummy says, but you lose 2 lives if you lost from the mummy?

Then yes, Mummy and crone combine they attack. If you lose, you become a toad and lose 2 lives due to the curse of that mummy card...

Combats with multiple Enemies that have special abilities are always a bit tricky. You have to stop the game and think out the best way to solve the situation. Usually effects can cumulate and generate interesting outcomes.

If you lose to a Crone + Mummy you have to suffer all negative effects: lose 1 Life due to defeat, lose 1 Life due to Mummy's special effect, and be toaded for Three Turns because of the Crone.

Dungeon adds a lot of Enemies with special abilities and future expansions will bring out new combinations.

Actually, Crone+Mummy is a very nasty combination if you lost from them. Getting toaded and losing 2 lives is very bad demonio.gif

Just think of it that you need another 3 turns as a toad to stay alive partido_risa.gif

PS: i have not seen you for some time here on the forums The_Warlock gui%C3%B1o.gif Welcome back gran_risa.gif

Hi guys, I'm still about. The FAQ has already been sent to FFG for appraisal and PDF formatting. So should hopefully be with us real soon. The multiple Enemy questions have all been covered!
