Two years I was in a hobby shop in my area, my boys who were in buying magic cards took interest in the shop keeps game where they had an X-wing and 2 TIE's on a table I didn't think much of it back then cause I wasn't really looking at it.

About 8 months later in another hobby shop, one of my kids (eliminated early in a magic tourney) got invited to play a game. He stepped into a four person game where he played a TIE fighter pilot and had fun till he was ionized and floating near aimlessly in space.

The end result was as they say History. I now have sizable collection with Delusions of grandure in modding most of the ships that have a large base and up! however that is a story for another time.

Cev Lost's YT-1300 (WIP) LOST STAR

I knew I wanted to mod the falcon after seeing so many different ones. From lighting and actual changes I decided I wanted something new. Something off the beaten path. Everyone seemed to mod the cockpit in various places that were common or already done the That's cool I want one. So I did some serfing and I found a mod that was different slightly.. and it struck me.

After that I started gathering ideas and specs.

I'm sure we have seen some of these before.

And so on.

So then I got myself a second Yt-1300

I began my mod by taking off the laser cannons, dish, then cut the cockpit off completely. including the access tunnel

You can see here I took one of the mandibles off the front too. I needed the space. for what was to come.

Using a molding material that you just drop in hot water and make your mold I tried several attempts to creae my cockpit, In this case a mirror image of the lambda's cock pit (hense it being out in the pic) Finally I did have to remove it from the actual shuttle piece but was all in fun.

Next to my standard game piece for reference.

From there I went about green stuffing the cockpit into being from the mold. three tries later it was making sure the cockpit would fit perfectly.

It actually worked out ral nice and required very little cutting down on my part the mold wasn't perfect so it did have a few off kilter aspects that I wasn't expecting. But it playd nicely for a the lore based aspect that the yt was the most customizable ship in the galexy after all.

Next up green stuffing up the tunnel and side.

This was a pain, I had to put a card in and glue it under to get the green stuff to go on and stay in place the side was the worst. More like a sink hole

After that I took a mold of another part of the ship added some fresh green stuff to the tunnel Mould to green stuff later, and it actually looks like its part of the hull. Some paint and wash later...

I'm sure there's guys out there who could do a much better job, but this was my first ever kit bash and I'm happy with the bugger. as it stands, however this is not over yet. Seeing all them light up jobs from corvettes to the shuttle and the tutorial on the Yt light up, I'm looking to take this mod further!

I'm missing the outfit that looks like George lucas. My boys however.. yes they would dress up.

I wish someone would do a model of that ship, I fell in love with it from the start. It's sleek and menacing.

This is some really good work you've done here, never would have thought to stick a lambda cockpit on a 1300.. creative and fun.
