Few questions, ionization, movements and you!

By LunchMonkey, in X-Wing Rules Questions

1. If Fel with PTL, gets Ionized, can he boost and BR?

2. If a Tie Bomber gets Ionized, can he still drop a bomb?

3. On movement across a Asteroid in the falcon, If the movement template dosn't cross the roid, but the base of the ship would cross it (not land on it on final position) does it roll and lose an action?

1. Yes cause you still get actions as normal.

2. Same as 1 but might not want to do to being in range of bomb depending on bomb.

1. yes - Ion tokens only effect what happens in the planning and movement part of activation phase - they do not effect actions (unless you fly into an asteroid or collide with another ship as a result of being ioned)

2. Bombs are released when the manoeuvre dial is revealed - when ioned you do not reveal a manoeuvre dial - only exception is the prox mine - that is dropped as an action

3. no - the position of the movement template and the final position of the ship base are the only things you need to consider

  1. Ionisation only affects Fel's movement. He doesn't get to assign a maneuver, and instead does a white 1-straight. He still gets his actions if he's not stressed at the time.
  2. Proton Bombs and Seismic Charges trigger when you reveal your dial, so no dial means no bomb. Proximity Mines are an Action so you can use one of those.
  3. It's only the final position that counts for the ship.

2. Same as 1 but might not want to do to being in range of bomb depending on bomb.

Incorrect - card text on the proton bomb and seismic charge both read "when you reveal your maneuver (am sp?) dial...."

Ion effect cards reads: "The owner does not assign a maneuver dial to this ship"

ergo if no maneuver dial is revealed (because it hasn't been assigned) then no bomb can be dropped

My bad looked at Proximity Mine. As said above each bomb is a bit different.

Think nothing of it - I've been playing for about a year now and I still get things wrong and have to check in here for the occasional answer from the rules ninjas

Asteroids only affect the ship if you land on it as your final position or if your movement template overlaps the asteroid. If your template overlaps, you roll a dice to see if you get damage. If you land on an asteroid, you roll a die to see if you get damage, you don't get an action, and you cannot attack.

Dash Render has the ability to be unaffected by asteroids (or other obstacles) during the Activation Phase, BUT if he is still on an asteroid at the start of the Combat Phase, he cannot attack.

If your template overlaps, you roll a dice to see if you get damage.

If the template overlaps you lose your action as well.
