Star Wars RPG and Rebels: A Perfect Match

By Jaspor, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hey folks. So watching Rebels and seeing some of the threads here about how they seem very much like an Edge of the Empire crew got me thinking, and I wrote an article about the two.

Basically the point is that this would be a perfect chance to use Rebels to get more widespread exposure to the game, and a few ways this could be accomplished.

Here's a sample:

"There have been several threads on official and unofficial forums all drawing the same conclusion: The Star Wars Rebels crew is the perfect example of an Edge of the Empire RPG party. Each episode of the series is like a session of the RPG. Every scene of the show plays out similarly to how the scenes during the RPG adventures play out – the characters make important decisions. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. Either way, those watching can feel the tension and are waiting to see what comes next."

Read through the link, and I see several valid points, though i think that another way the could capitalize on the similarities between the two could be to give a solid connection between the two, such as including maybe the vehicle stats for the ship "Ghost" in the dvd/blu-ray, or the stats for a Lacet PC released with the show somehow. That way people who are already interested in the show, will be given something to peak their interest in EoTE.

Thanks for reading. Yep, absolutely. So many ways to do it, such a great opportunity to connect the two.

No problem, my campaign is drawing a lot from SW: Rebels, as well as Force Unleashed, since they are happening during the same time period.
