I need to fill out 3 more points

By nikk whyte, in X-Wing

I've got Corran with FCS, and wedge with predator. Luke rounds out the squad, and I have 3 points left to dump.

I tried out marksmanship, but on Luke it came up short.

Any other suggestions? Outmaneuver is there, but its a little iffy on those x wings without a engine upgrade.

Move that Marksmanship over to Corran. It works the whole turn, so you get it on the second shot from his double tap. Unless of course, you like having your focus for defense.

I'm aware of the marksmanship, FCS, double tap combo. But I'm trying to not overburden one ship into being the leader/main target, etc.

I like Sensor Jammers on Coran rather than FCS. Then give him Predator. I think that is a 4 point difference. But I think this list really needs Biggs to keep Wedge and Coran alive.

You have a PS8 X-Wing with 3 extra points, a free EPT, and an open astromech slot?

Stressbot it.

R3-A2 and VI.

wedge and Corran actually lasted through my first few playthroughs, and that included defeating a fat outrider.

And I don't own the stressbot. I'm considering r7-t1, for a double action when applicable.

Stealth device?

I did briefly consider that, for Luke's ability to have a better shot at triggering. I'll test fly it tomorrow.

If you have access to more than one: Predator. Best 3 points you'll spend by a long sight.

I'm familiar with predators value, but I only have one and it's on wedge.

Alternatively, Marksmanship on Corran rather than Luke, Hull Upgrade anywhere, R2 Astromech's always fairly solid, Veteran Instincts anywhere, R7-T1 on Wedge...

When it comes to Corran, if you're paying for him you might as well fully kit him out complete with PTL, Engine Upgrade and R2-D2. That being said with those three ships you don't really have the space to so we're looking at minor upgrades. Astromechs, Flechette Torpedoes, cheap EPTs, that sort of thing.

There's also swapping out ships but the way you phrased the post I think those are the three you want to stick with.

... Say again, I do NOT have stressbot.

Further, I wouldn't use it if I did. X wings aren't exactly great at stress removal, and work best when you can fly them then to their full ability.

I know that you don't have a stressbot but I think that you shouldn't discount its value on an X-Wing.

A stressbot X-Wing works great against Interceptors even if you never end up activating the the stressbot. Anything with PTL will avoid using PTL while in your arc. If they do end up using PTL you can double stress them and keep them stressed until they are dead. A ship without actions isn't going to be able to shake an X-Wing that is on its tail. A high PS stressbot X-Wing also adds a bit of a Phantom counter to your list.

Lone Wolf with either R2 or R5 on Luke might be nice.

I find myself quite unsurprised that you suggested this...

Not a fan of R2-D2 either?

Not for 3 points, NOPE.

The key being that R2 is optional. I don't have to do a green manuever to perform at the same level. You do once you're stressed.

The stressbot is optional as well. You only use it in situations where your opponent getting a stress token is more of an advantage to you than having to take a green move next round would be a disadvantage.
