First Ship with Two Titles: Firespray-31

By ObiWonka, in X-Wing

Given that Andrasta is Emon Azzameen's ship, and we already have Slave I for Boba Fett, I just had to make this list:

Boba Fett (39)

+ Slave I (0)

+ Advanced Proton Torpedoes (6)

+ Counter-Measures (3)

+ Determination (1)

+ Greedo (1)

+ Inertial Dampeners (1)

Emon Azzameen (36)

+ Andrasta (0)

+ Proton Bombs (5)

+ Proximity Mines (3)

+ Recon Specialist (3)

+ Seismic Charges (2)

Updrage choices:

Advanced Proton Torpedoes: If we're gonna put the title on Boba, we might as well use it. With Boba's re-roll(s) at Range 1, as long as he can stack a Focus token, he's going to do some incredible damage.

Counter-Measures: When he's in the thick of things, re-roll(s) on 3 Agility will go a long way.

Determination: See Greedo.

Greedo: He's peanut butter, Boba Fett is chocolate, and, uh, the Firespray-31 is a Reese's cup? Whatever, these two bounty hunters belong together.

Inertial Dampeners: It's an upgrade we know from lore Boba has made to his ship, and he can use it to park right in the middle of the fray. With Greedo, Counter-Measures, and his pilot ability, he doesn't even need any actions to be nasty while he's there.

Proton Bombs, Proximity Mines, Seismic Charges: With the title, I figured Emon would like the complete variety of Bomb options for whatever situation might arise. See this thread for some fun bomb-slinging ideas.

Recon Specialist: Has long been a solid standby for the Firespray. With the exception of the Proximity Mine, Emon doesn't need his action for anything else bomb-related, so why not two Focus tokens?

I'm definitely getting a second firespray for when scum launches. The two titles seem fun, and I'd like to try a torkil/2x predator mando mercenary or a Kath/Boba heavy hitting list.

But as for this list, have you thought about replacing Emon's crew with Intelligence Agent? It could give you a bit of a bomb-sniping edge for the non-proximity mines.

I dig Greedo on Boba. Even without determination it seems like a real interesting card on the firespray.

technically not true, both Transport and Tantive have multiple titles

Gonna need a third, maybe fourth Firespray...Already want one for Kath, and now I need an Andrasta to go with my Boba and Krassis.
Argh.

Gah I've already got 3 but feel like I need to do up an Andrasta as well

As I've said before, I don't play epic, so I never remember to make note of it, even though it's obviously not relevant from the content of the post, but I guess we'll talk about that instead of the cool thematic Firespray builds?

That's a good idea. Any thoughts on how to shuffle around the 2 points freed up?

Recon spec on boba, greedo on andressa? Boba will use the focus tokens more with the "being in everyone's face" move. Focus for attack, focus for a defense.

The focus tokens make the ability to reroll even more powerful. Greedo seems like a bad card to have on a ship that you expect to be your opponent's primary target.

Greedo I'd leave out. Boba I'd give Deadeye and Recon Specialist, meaning you can fire off those APTs when you get the opportunity much more easily. Plus once the torps are fired you have one of the best crew for a Firespray in the game on Fett. If you have room I'd try and give him a missile too (not Proton Rockets or IPM though) just so that you get the maximum out of Deadeye, but I wouldn't say it's a priority.

Also might be worth giving Fett an Ion Cannon to make that much easier to set up Emon's bomb shots (double edged sword though: your opponent will know ahead of time where the bomb's going and will pick his dials to get outta there: you're trading a guaranteed hit for a lower chance of multiple hits. Could feint with it though :P).

I'd also combine the Seismic and the Proximity Mine into another Proton Bomb: the other two bombs I find to be more effective in numbers. Intelligence Agent is also a good call.

Incidentally, it might be worth dropping the APT strategy all together: Ion Torpedo would be pretty amazing combined with Emon's Proton Bomb. That also frees up Boba's EPT: I'd recommend Stay on Target or Expert Handling considering how much Boba wants Range 1: if you use neither I'd recommend Engine Upgrade.

If you do take Stay on Target, Outlaw Tech is worth considering.

EDIT: On Greedo, only just noticed that pretty nifty combo you set up there. Risky, but nifty.

Is Emon on a different cardboard piece than bobab fett, or do you need two Most Wanteds?

If you're happy using the Imperial dial just use the Imperial baseplate too.

Problem is that the Slave 1 title is pretty bleh because torpedoes are pretty bleh. Advanced torps are particularly bad because they are worthless without a focus token or marksmanship up alongside the range 1 and target-lock requirements.

You could try Deadeye + Recon Specialist, though.

The only reliable use I can see for Slave 1 is gunner shenanigans:

1.) Title

2.) Flechette Torpedo

3.) Munitions Fail-safe

4.) Gunner

Target-lock, let fly, hopefully miss, stress anyway, regain torp, fire normally.

Or Ion Torpedo, which would sync very nicely with Emon's bombing and is half the price of RecSpec Deadeye APT. (Not that you wouldn't want RecSpec anyway)

In nonntournament games this is fine. But in tourneys you need scum and villany dials for all your scum ships.

In which case you'd need two MW anyway for the dial, making the question of if Emon and Boba are two sides of the same baseplate irrelevant. I assumed from the baseplate question that this was Casual.

Greedo was more for Bounty Hunter buddy cops theme, but also the Determination combo. I do like the utility of swapping him for RecSpec on Boba, though. And with Deadeye and APT, that's pretty cool. Ion Torpedoes into Emon's bombs seems really, really mean and fun! Flechette + Munitions Failsafe + Gunner strikes me as a little too gimmicky, plus I am not a fan of MF in the first place.

Good stuff, guys, definite improvements over the first thing I threw together.
