Our interview with Dom Cairo

Have you ever wanted to sit down and chat with a skilled veteran player, just to pick their brain and chat about X-wing? Well it’s no secret that we at Scum & Villainy love it, so we’ve decided to make it a regular event. This is the first of what we expect will be many interviews to come; and what better guest is there than Team Covenant’s own Dom Cairo, defending Vassal champion for two straight tournaments?

Our interview with Doug Kinney

For those of you who are not aware, Doug Kinney won the first Worlds tournament with a swarm. Afterward he became more of a Firespray player as he sought to expand his arsenal of Imperial weapons, but this year for Worlds he once again broke out the swarm; not because he hoped to avoid Phantoms, but because he hoped to defeat them. Join us as we talk to Doug about his plan, his 100% success at Worlds vs Phantoms, and get Doug’s opinion on a few things like how to overcome self-doubt.

We missed Frog like the deserts miss the rain. Greg was actually supposed to be in both of these but his kid decided to destroy a room with his vomit. (gross but accurate.)

I feel like I learn something every time I talk to Dom Cairo.

I had a lot of fun at Worlds talking with Dom about different matches and strategy that players took. Such a sharp player.

It was great to listen to Doug's road to Worlds. I liked how he found his grove with the Swarm.

Nice interviews, I got to listen to them last night! Both guys really seem like class acts. I hadn't even thought about getting a card signed by Doug, but that is such a good idea.

I was tinkering with my scripts when listening to the podcast. In a bit of irony, when you got to the question about "fixing the TIE Advanced", by coincidence I was recalculating the values for the various fixes that have been suggested here on the forums for it.

I agree... then a pure point fix... I think the capabilities of the advanced are in line with it's stats... the points are purely just off... I think running 5 Advanced at 19 each would be interestingly competitive.

I have faith the Alex and Frank will work some magic for the Tie Advanced.
