Playing new Rebel force :)

By HeroOfTheGalacticEmpire, in X-Wing Battle Reports

Hello guys, looking for solid and diverse opinions here on how I might be able to improve my 3 ship fleet for my Rebels as now I'm confident I won't have to modify my Whisper, Soontir and Yorr Imperials again now.

So as of now I'm running:

Wedge - R2-F2 (32)

Keyan Farlander - Autoblaster, PTL, Engine Upgrade and FCS. (43)

Blue Squadron Pilot - Advanced Sensors (25)

Recently, I've found the Autoblaster's usefulness comes far and between. But yet it has the potential to obliterate any Tie Interceptor or Tie fighter based on the maximised chances of getting those 3 dice to all hits. (TL and Keyan's ability). However, to have purchased it in the first place, I had to drop Predator from Wedge. Now was that smart? or can I find another way to improve my lists effectiveness.

I've been keen to keep 1 X-wing is my list always, but I don't mind the pilot. But Keyan has become my favourite Rebel pilot, makes the B-wing's weakness into a commanding strength.

Thanks guys,

Dave/Whisper

I would seriously consider dropping the autoblaster and the FCS for a Heavy Laser Cannon. so much more value than Autoblaster. FCS is good but with PTL you should be able to boost, TL and stress (Focus) most targets quite nicely.

Also I would play Predator on Wedge over R2-F2, I think R2-F2 just doesnt cut it unless you have some other effect buffing it.

The Bs are tanky, and with Wedge and Farlander your opponent will have a tough choice of who they will go after first...

So maybe another B is the way to go. But spreading out the points and you can get a 4 ship build-

Wedge Antilles — X-Wing 29

Predator 3

Keyan Farlander — B-Wing 29

Push the Limit 3

Green Squadron Pilot — A-Wing 19

Push the Limit 3

Chardaan Refit -2

Outmaneuver 3

A-Wing Test Pilot 0

Tala Squadron Pilot — Z-95 Headhunter 13

With the A-Wing and Z, you give the enemy so many options. This list will only get better once Lone Wolf gets out. If they go after the A or Z you make them pay with The X and B. If they ignore them well, you know what to do.

I might have to try this list out myself...

I'd have dropped R2-F2 rather than Wedge. Without Experimental Interface I don't think that droid's worth it.

I've actually decided to change my list a little -

I'm now playing for my Rebels for the momment:

Keyan - (29)

- PTL - (3)

- Engine Upgrade (4)

total - 36

Green Squadron Pilot x2 (38)

Outmaneuver x2 (6)

PTL x2 (6)

Chardeen Refits (-4)

A-wing Test Pilot x2 (0)

Stealth Device x2 (6)

total - 52

Bandit Squadron - 12

Total - 100pts.

I just think Keyan is tanky as it is, and the 2 A-wings could make great flankers. Although from reading your own thoughts, maybe having only 1 Interceptor is better and not so risky as Keyan could get focused upon early, so another B-wing would be a good assistance.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm unlucky to play another X-wing for a while (sad face - X-wings are my favourite Rebellion fighters).
