So the andrasta meets fat han...

By Darthfish, in X-Wing

I am thinking that this may be the ship that gives large base ships like fat han and the decimator a hard time. especially Han. Prox mines ignore your evades, C3PO is no help either. The falcon needs to arc dodge to be viable, and one or 2 prox mines can force hard choices and stop han from circling the board. Also you have the option of proton bombs to inflict a crit. Add to that a couple of Y-wings with bomb slots, and you are putting 5 mines on the board, and still have lots of HP, good attacks, especially with the y-wing scum upgrades.

Like sable, I have an affinity for the mines, especially the prox mine, as it favors low PS and sort of penalizes high PS. I like it on bombers as well, and the adrasta title could be taken in an imperial build, but Emon's bomb placement options are phenomenal, and if he gets in front of the falcon he can still shoot behind him as well. (granted, he is recieving fire too)

What do you think?

Emon Azzameen 36

Prox mine x 3 9

Andrasta 0

Kavil 24

Blaster 4

R4 Agro 2

Bomb upgrade 0

Prox mine 3

thug 18

Prox mine 3

99 points

5 prox mines, 8 red dice / turn, 26 HP

What do you all think? is this viable? I have not put a lot of thought in this yet, what would make it better? put intel on firespray? lose a bomb for rebel captive? do away with the Thug for something better?

The only problem I see with this type of bomb/mine list is that you're putting all your eggs in one basket. If you roll poorly with your prox mines, its going to be a long game. Prox mines are alot better than they were, but the stillcost you your action, so your shooting/defense isn't as good. A cool idea though, and one I might try.

Experimental Interface could solve that, perhaps with Marksmanship so it's of use after the mines go out.

Emon with prox mines would be gnarly. I hadn't really thought of that.

I think Emon is going to be a bit of a game changer. That guy is going to be a "kill it with fire" ship when you see him.

Emon can't have a EPT. His only flaw.

I do think you need to be careful you don't put too many eggs in one basket. Like a tie bomber it could all back fire.

Oh right, I'm thinking Kath since the title's not Emon-locked.

Double seismic + single proximity will probably be ok on both Dirty Kath and Azameen. You get 2-4 auto damage (and what 6-8 potential damage?) and some board control for 7pts. If you find proximity mines to be useful I think 1-2 more points is well spend. Serissu and/or bodyguard and a firespray (who may have ptl and or recon specialist) is going to get 3 rounds of bomb dropping in most games.

Gunner?

If you go with the EI suggestion I further suggest trying to fit a Saboteur on Emon so you can still make use of EI once the proximity mines are used. Or some other [action] Crew card
