My question is, if I have Advanced Sensors on a Tie Phantom, can I perform a cloak action before revealing my maneuver and then immediately decloak? The cards read:

This is specifically covered in the FAQ entry for Advanced Sensors, the answer being no. This is an exception to the normal rules for this sort of situation.

No its not. I really don't feel like going over this for the thousandth time, but...

The trigger "before revealing your dial" is a one time trigger, not a phase. At the time this triggers you are not cloaked, so you can't decloak, but you can trigger Advanced Sensors. You can use AS to cloak, but the ability to decloak has passed and you can not "go back" and retrigger something that has passed...

To decloak, you have to spend the cloak token when you reveal your maneuver dial. You can also use advanced sensors before you reveal your maneuver dial. However, you can't use A.S. to gain a cloak token to decloak when you reveal your maneuver dial. All abilities that trigger in the timing window of "when you reveal your maneuver dial" activate in that moment. They get triggered then. The cloak token, gained from A.S., appears after the timing window for decloaking has passed, and so can't be triggered this round.

So it would be acceptable to have a phantom, that is already cloaked, use AdvS do a barrel roll prior to revealing the maneuver dial and then spend the cloak token to de-cloak.

I cant think of many applications for this but this would be crazy hyper maneuverable.

Yup that's absolutely right - you could even decloak then barrel roll with AS (order may only matter for echo)

I overheard this being misplayed at yesterday's tournament. The player lost anyway, but I wish the TO would've corrected him.
