A Rules Question

By Musha Shukou, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Can somebody please clarify for me the rule about being delayed when drawn through a gate? With the game flow being as follows: Upkeep, Movement, Arkham Encounters, Other World Encounters, Mythos, wouldn't this cause an investigator drawn through a gate during an Arkham Encounter to have 2 Other World Encounters in the same Other World space for a total of 3 Other World Encounters while in the Other World? The first being during the Other World Encounter phase immediately following the Arkham Encounter phase which caused the gate to open and the investigator to be drawn through and delayed, the 2nd to be the Other World Encounter phase after the investigator's delayed status is ended, and the 3rd to be the Other World Encounter phase after the investigator has moved to the 2nd Other World space? Is this what is intended, or is there a solution to this such as, skip the 1st Other World Encounter?

This has been addressed - you do indeed have a total of three enounters, unless you are lucky enough to get an encounter that tells you to return to arkham. (Note: if you get the return to Arkham as your first encounter you will still be delayed - of course this is no problem since you will be closing the gate!)

Excellent! Thank you very much for clarifying that for me!

Interesting that you mention the piece about getting lucky and returning to Arkham while delayed. I had never had this happen in the 40 or 50 games I played previously. Since I got IH, I have been playing a bit more often in the past two weeks, and I have had this happen in at least three out of eight games, sometimes multiple times in a game. It is a nice surprise, but IH is still beating me 6-2.

I'll be visiting my sons this weekend and we'll play. Maybe I'll have better success with the support of other players.gui%C3%B1o.gif
