Two tourney lists for criticism

By Gibarian, in X-Wing

I don't get to play often enough, so I tend to overthink, tinker, and waffle when a firm gaming night is on the horizon. I have the opportunity to play in a store tournament in the next couple days, and here are a couple lists I've been considering:

Horton Salm

Blaster Turret

Proton Torps

Proton Torps

R2-D6

Veteran Instincts

Corran Horn

Veteran Instincts

Fire-Control System

R7 Astromech

Airen Cracken

Veteran Instincts

99 points

PS 10 across the board, kinda alpha-strikey. Cracken can either help Horton get off a devastating torpedo, or can cover his butt when he needs a focus for the turret. I've never flown Corran before, which is kind of intimidating, but this seems like a decent "slim" build for him that has both offensive and defensive options.

Horton Salm

Blaster Turret

Proton Torps

Proton Torps

R2-D6

Veteran Instincts

Nera Dantels

Decoy

Advanced Sensors

Flechette Torps

Flechette Torps

Munitions Failsafe

Tarn Mison

R7 Astromech

I've flown a list very close to this, with slightly different upgrades. Between Horton and Nera it has the tools to deal with Phantoms. Horton's ordnance takes the lead against large ships, and Tarn is there to lead the charge.

I feel like both these squads can contend against Phantoms or Fat Hans, but would probably struggle against swarms, unless I can kill a couple ships very quickly.

If I don't go with one of these I'd probably do something boring, like generic pilot spam.

What kind of criticism are you looking for? I don't think either list is very competitive, so you should probably just play with whichever strikes you as being the most fun.

Blaster Turret on a Y... is not good.
Blaster Turret + 2x Torps... is not good.

And now for individual list critiques:

In list 1, Cracken and Horton have anti-synergy. Horton only needs a Target Lock at Range 1, and that's the only action that Cracken would be giving him.

In list 2, Nera makes for a very overbuilt B-Wing. 36 points is a lot on only 1 agility.
You could replace her with a Prototype with Chaardan, and a Rookie.

Until Horton has fired off his Proton Torpedoes he can benefit from being able to take both a TL and Focus. Corran has enough actions available that he'll almost always be able to benefit from an extra action.

Coran will have a huge target on his head. So I'd try and work Biggs into the list. I also agree that a blaster turret on a Y will be pretty ineffective. The issue is you will need to spend you only focus to fire it hurting your chances to modify those dice.

If you are married to the idea of having a PS10 blaster turret i'd offer up Jan Ors, with recon spec and moldy crow, She can be a beast.
