If you want to keep Whisper at 7, you could take my suggested list and remove VI from her, then use that 1 pt to upgrade the Saber to a Royal Guard.
Royal Guard, are in my opinion, the best mid PS small ship in the game.

I want to try this out:
Echo (30)
- Veteran Instincts (1)
- Advanced Cloaking Device (4)
- Mara Jade (3)
Delta Squadron Pilot (30)
- Ion Cannon (3)
Carnor Jax (26)
- Push the Limit (3)
Could potentially lose the Ion Cannon to fit in Soontir, or replace Carnor with Turr with VI and a Hull Upgrade.
Concerning the original post, here is a simple checklist that can help. In the case of a 3 ship Imperial build, your fleet should always have *something* to counter these 3 common squad components:
1 - PS 9 Whisper with ACD
2 - PS 8 Echo with ACD
3 - PS 9 (minimum) Han with engine upgradre
So looking at your list, here is an evaluation of how much you can respond to each threat
1 and 2: considering that you have nothing in the PS 8 or 9 rating, this would give either phantom a large amount of freedom to arc dodge. Covering all angles with your 3 ship build is not doable since no turrets are involved, so things could get ugly really fast. Maybe a rebel prisonner could afford you a bit more survivability than Mara Jade if you don't have veteran instinct.
3: Han is also free to move after all of your units and can target a decloaked Whisper with ease. The fact that he would move afterwards also means that he could boost out of proton rocket and Mara Jade range. The defender could potentially tank, but that means trusting in the dice gods.
Incidentally, an interceptor without push the limit and low PS rating is not all that good. When I want to save on points but don't want to invest in a push the limit interceptor, I default to backstabber (freeing points for upgrades elsewhere).
Hope this helps! ![]()
I like the basics of your list. I have tinkered with a similar one. If I were to run it though it would look like this:
Thanks again. The feedback is greatly appreciated. I am bringing all of this to my practice sessions, and will give them all a try.
Dotswarlock - thanks for the evaluation, that made a lot of sense and I surely wasn't thinking in those terms. Using VI does seem important, but I am still gonna see what can happen with other EPTs just to figur out what the local scene is doing. I know there is at least one Fat Han fan here.
Looks like I have a bunch of games to get my practice in on.. lol
