Saw a couple of those make top 16 at worlds. No threepio on han and Only two ships. Seems fragile. How do i fly that list and is it any good? I guess you gotta stack a lot of focus on jan with recon Crew before going into action. Could somebody with some insights on this build please share.
How strong are those han/jan builds?
If you watch the streams from twitch one of the games is a Chewie/Jan that just wouldn't die.
and I believe there was indeed a 3PO on that particular Chewie/Jan build
This is the squad that made the top 16:
Jan Ors + Veteran Instincts + Engine Upgrade + Recon Specialist + Blaster Turret + Moldy Crow;
Han Solo + Engine Upgrade + Millennium Falcon + Push The Limit + C-3PO + Kyle Katarn;
It can be strong, but it's vulnerable. You have to use the rocks too your advantage. You have to be patient and wait until your opponent commits to an attack, then you can boost away and use your turrets. This squad is very vulnerable to action denial so you have to play this squad very smart to make up for it's weakness.

In reality, most people will never fly that well enough to pull it off. Your margin of error is virtually non-existant.

I can't wait to play Dash/Jan.
I have played the same list and it is very unforgiving. Although this list made it further, I really really liked sheer inventiveness of the Chewie/Jan build. That was my favourite list of the tournament.

Just so I'm clear on this, Jan can work on the ships she herself is equipped to?
Edit: miss read this but my question stands.

To be fair, I also thought this would be about the upgrade card (and Obi is correct, Jan works on the equipped ship because it specifies "friendy" not "another friendly" like Howlrunner/Airen do)
Stacking 2 evades on top of the other b.s a Falcon can get would make it a nightmare while Gunner/Luke still makes it offensively noticeable, but I figure it may be unnecessary if you can leverage mobility (large ship + boost) instead of token stacking (would have to be PTL to get both the evade and focus action). On that note, I'm going to hate life if people in my LGS pick up Wave 5 Lando and get lucky (my name implies both extremes of green dice
)
Not sure what Jan the HWK does for Falcons, I mean I know technically but it just seems to stick out like a giant red HIT ME! sign next to the lumbering immortal behemoth that is a Fat Falcon.

Chewie with PtL (maybe predator), 3-PO, R2-D2, Falcon, Concussion missile, hull upgrade.
Jan with Squad leader, Recon spec, Moldy Crow, Blaster turret, stealth device.
The combination of stealth device plus tons of focus makes Jan pretty resilient. Also once Jan has enough focus then she switches to giving Chewie an extra action with squad leader. It had great synergy, and had to be played awfully well without engine upgrades on either. The extra hull on Chewie synergises quite well with the supertanker version of Chewie. The concussion missile was a great add because it meant that Chewie could roll 5 attack dice out to range 3 when needed, or when he didn't want to be at range 1.

Cant believe it. I played this Four times in a row on monday and it annihilated everything. Idk why. It just did. Maybe my opponent needed time to adapt to a new techy list but stil, Four games? Whisper vi plus five ap, vi whisper plus three decked out blacks with predator and stelth device. Those are very strong. Some fettigator build and an interceptor build. This list just Tore throug it all. I used the rocks but didnt even have to fly super cautiosly. Han throwing 5d with a 360 arv is so huge. Only once were they able to isolate the Hawk and i still won. I cant believe how Well it performed for me. As i mentioned in the op it looks so bad at first glance. Vulnerable to bumps, stress, tactician and stuff but irl it just killed everything. Also, its a blast to fly.
Any ideas to make it better? Im thinking maybe drop PTL and kyle for Gunner or maybe something with predator. I dont feel like the two costly EUs Can be swopped, though, as they were so Key in all Four games.
Edited by ScoundrelMucking around with a Chewie/Jan/Prototype Pilot list earlier I dropped the Prototype and came up with this:
Chewbacca + Predator + Cluster Missiles + Gunner + Engine Upgrade + Millennium Falcon
Jan Ors + Squad Leader + Blaster Turret + Recon Specialist + Engine Upgrade + Moldy Crow
Jan stores up the focus for the blaster then starts laying the extra action on Chewie whilst bumping his attacks...
... Like that's ever going to actually happen! ![]()
