Upgrade Combo vs Upgrade Combo

By Sonikgav, in X-Wing

Been looking at the YT-2400 and im probably late to the part but a Combo appeared to me that challenges an old standard.

Leebo + Experimental Interface

vs

Push The Limit + Engine Upgrade

The End result is the same, you get 2 actions and one of them is a Boost however there are differences.

Leebo Interface is 2 points Cheaper, At only 5 points its not bad but what makes it really special is that it also frees up the Elite Pilot slot. Sure it does take up the Crew slot, which on the Outrider can hurt, but on the Falcon you still have another slot. The BIG difference is that, although both builds give you a stress token, this also gives you an Ion Token. Now again on a Big Ship, only a problem every other turn but can be limiting.

Any thoughts?

Screw the Ion. I'll take Leebo in small-based ships as well!

Giving yourself an Ion token and a Stress token in the same round seems like it is asking for trouble.

Yeah, because it takes two rounds to get rid of both of them.

Unless you've got Nein Nunb, or are Keyan Farlander, or have a Wingman, or...

No because on a Large Ship, 1 Ion token doesnt do anything until you get the second one the next round, which you can (more or less) prepare for by boosting off somewhere safe with your 360 degree HLC.

It's still limiting.

Also, the only action that you can perform with Experimental is Leebo, meanwhile, Push the limit can do anything you have in the action bar, which for the YT2400, is plenty. Push the limit is the better option between the two you presented here.

Even for fewer points and a spare EPT?

Im actually thinking it might work better for a Falcon build (more Crew Slots)
