The original movie definitely picked up on the culture of the day with Han Solo talking about not "doing this for your revolution, sister" and the struggle of people vs materialism (Han's choice in the movie of either taking the money of fighting with the cause). It all had a 1960' & 1970's tint to it.
It seems likely that the current one will have a lot of self-centered millennial-thinking (entitlement attitudes) and New Age thinking (old people and their wisdom are dumb, It's ALL about YOU. self-focus brings enlightenment) , and moral relativism (Everybody has their own truth and two disagreeing people can both be right!) in it. What do you all think? What examples might we see of this in the film?
For example,
Personally, I think that in the first films the Force was a spiritual, God-like power that existed in the universe and showed up in magnitude according to however the powers determined it.
Using today's culture it might get twisted into it all depending on "the will of the individual" to master the Force (i.e. anybody can do it if they just try hard enough. The only limits you have are the limits you put on yourself. ----typical new-ager mentality.)
