How to find liveries (paint schemes) for the ships

By bmwrider, in X-Wing

I would like to paint a few of my ships (first up is a B-wing) but I want them to be true to the SW universe.

I know some of the ships were painted in different liveries but I don't know where to find them.

Some of the cards so liveries but most are not a very good example and those are few and far between.

Can you folks help?

I think the Modeler Magic site has the majority of the Red Squadron liveries from ANH. I can't say for certain about anything else beyond what google has shown me.

I use http://swc.fs2downloads.com/sshot.php?subdir=Misc/Brand-X/ as inspiration for Corran Horn's X (and E) wings, as well as Tycho Celchu's X (and A) Wing. Though they're not officially canon, they are a dude's interpretation of how it's described in the X wing series books.

If you do some research, you can find plenty of the ILM models for ANH for inspiration on different red and gold squadron variations. You can also see Red Jammer (the original Y wing, back with they were going to be red squadron and the X wings were going to be Blue squadron, but then they realized that wouldn't work since they were filming in front of a blue screen for ANH (it was a green screen for RoTJ)) if you want an alternate Y wing. I never had much luck with A and B wings though, but to be fair, I never did as much research into them either.

thank you, those are great pics,

I no longer own the SW movies to rewatch but I am sure the ships were not all painted the same, especially the rebel ships, I gotta see those squadron fight scenes again.

i simply searched Google Images and found plenty of inspiration.
