Double YT's?

By Sonikgav, in X-Wing

Im looking at something, maybe silly, maybe Casual and see where it goes.

Ive seen a number of builds using double YT-1300's but with the release of the 2400 ive been trying to work something out. Essentially it focusses on using the Falcon to fly in a central position to absorb incoming fire with its higher HP, while the 2400 flies outside/behind him with the HLC, essentially using the Falcon to fill in the donut.

For this i think the 'Co-Pilots' work best.

Chewbacca - Millenium Falcon, PTL, Recon Specialist, Tactical Jammer.

Leebo - Outrider, HLC, Wingman, Jan Ors

100pts

Chewbacca gains 2 Evades + a Focus per turn thanks to Jan and PTL, ontop of his Agility. He also provides a defensive boost to the Outrider behind him who should be popping off anything it can at Long Range while dealing with Chewbaccas stress problems for him. A little simplistic but i think tough. Has room for tweaks but isnt overpowered considering the ships involved. No super mobility or mega high PS and no R2/3PO combo lol.

Thoughts?

Nothing so far, hope thats a good sign lol

You make Chewie a very unappealing target, so no one will want to shoot him.

You need to make him a threat so people have more incentive to attack him.

Chewie does have a tactical jammer, though. They must soot him if he is in front of leebo

I don't think it quite works that way but with proper positioning and range Leebo could be getting 3/4 defence dice a turn while Chewie gets 1 and 2 Evades.

I think Leebo will be going down first. Then again it all depends on which ship you choose to expose first. But Leebo is the softer target and it keeps Chewies PTL in check as he will need to start doing green moves to clear stress.

If you restrict the movement of the Falcon you are only making the one flaw the falcon has that much more exposed.

So what would people recommend as a better option for this kind of build?

Maybe just use them both offensively. A Falcon and an Outrider working as two offensive turrets? Or should there be a support element between them?

I like the 58pt Dash build I've wanted to try it with naked chewie.
