So what do we think of Pegasus?

I don't know if we need more Cylon Leaders. Maybe that's a character who's only in play in the 4 or 6 player version. <shrug> Caprica is an obvious main character choice, but how would they incorporate her? Do they really want a bunch of Cylon characters to choose from? All of the humans listed are marginal at best. I admit Zarek is in the list of marginal characters but they needed a third political leader and he's the obvious choice. Maybe we should look at it that way. One more character for each class? A group of characters which form a new class (besides Cylon leader)? Cain as a character sounds interesting but how do you work that? Pegasus wouldn't show up until part way into the game, would it?

AFAICanTell, if you choose to play with the Pegasus board then it is in the game from the beginning. Basically, you are playing a "season 2 game" that begins from the point the Pegasus arrives.

By the way, I think that passage you quoted from another website is in error. I doubt you will be able to play the Pegasus expansion as a standalone game.

I would be fine with anything, as long as there is an "expansion marker" printed on the new materials - it is alsoways a pain in the ass to work with lists to "unpatch" any game to basics.

If there were any tiny thing that I could nitpick as far as feeling disappointed, it would be the Pegasus apparently not having a squad of plastic Mark VII Vipers to bolster the fleet's firepower.

Where did you get that from?

Just a personal wish I had been holding out for if an additional Pegasus board did show up in an expansion. I was greedily hoping it would have a generous amount of plastic Mark VIIs and Raptors just like Galactica has those plastic fantastic Mark IIs and Raptors. Kind of like in the series, when Pegasus joins the fleet, it adds all their fancy new Vipers into the mix.

Unless I missed something, we're getting awesome Basestar minis, but that's it as far as new plastic sculpts?

First paragraph of the news article:

"For nearly half a year following the destruction of the Twelve Colonies, the crew of the Battlestar Galactica defended the last remaining human survivors. Then, all at once, salvation appeared in the form of the Battlestar Pegasus. At nearly twice the size of Galactica, with upgraded weapons batteries and a newer, larger fleet of Vipers and Raptors, the fleet was now safer..."

That could just be flavor text though.

Exactly. I saw no insinuation that they were actual included components anywhere in the article. They most likely would have made at least as much of a big deal over new Viper sculpts as they did the new additional Basestars if they were including any.

Ah - I doubt there will be new Viper sculpts. There may be more Viper and Raptor minis though (same as those in the base game). If there are going to be things like Cavil who can bring a new Basestar out every turn, then more firepower might be one of the compensations for the human players to cope with this.
