Colonel Jendon

This is probably a stupid question:

FAQ States "Jendon may assign one of his blue target lock tokens to a ship that does not have the target lock action listed in it's action bar."

So that means his ability is useless for bombers, defenders, slave i , other shuttles, etc as they all have the ability to target lock? So essentially it's good for ships such as the TIE fighter, interceptor, ships that don't have the innate ability to TL (without the mod added on)?

If so, that's stupid and he was nerfed into the ground. (in my opinion if I am understanding correctly).

Yep. The FAQ was comfirming that ships that normally can't target lock could obtain locks via Jendon's ability. That doesn't stop ships with the Target Lock abilty from recieving the free lock as well, which frees up their ability use. Jendon can pass off a lock to another ship, and that ship can still use its action to focus, evade, ect.

Ok I was reading it as if he couldn't assign his lock to a ship who could perform the TL action. Thank you!

A lot of people read it that way. When that bit was first added to the FAQ there were a half dozen threads with basically the same question.

The FAQ does not say "should read as" so it is not errata it is just clarifications. The card reads you may assign a Blue TL token to a ship that does not already have a Blue TL token. It just enhances the rules that you cannot have more than one Blue TL token on a ship (with the exception of weapons engineer which is the only card negatively affected.)

The FAQ just states that the ship receiving the blue TL token doesn't need the TL action in order to receive a TL token. Much like how Phantoms can get a blue TL token with fire control system even though they do not have the Target Lock action.

What they said. In short, Jendon can assign a target lock to anyone in range who does not already have one. People were already doing that (and they were correct) the FAQ just clarified. It's a little like Jan, she can give an evade token to a ship that cannot perform the evade action. but she can also add an evade to an e-wing if she wishes and the other criteria are met.
