Beta Tester PCs--How do you like your characters?

By Hysteria, in General Discussion

I think at this point most players are starting to get a feel for their characters, so I was curious how everyone feels about the characters they've managed to build, and how they feel their talents, skills and powers are working as a whole.

I came late to the beta testing, and so far my Human Guardian Peacekeeper seems to be kind of fun. While I've seen other people use Leadership, the Peacekeeper seems built towards swaying crowds. I've managed to use Leadership for this a couple of times, and it can be pretty gratifying to sway crowds--although I do feel more like getting into an actual fight sometimes.

Well, I'm a GM, but I'll answer your question anyway. I just started up another new group and gave everyone the option to change their characters however they wanted after the first session. They liked their characters so much as they were that they didn't even take me up on that offer. So far everyone seems to be liking their F&D characters just fine.

I haven't gotten to play myself yet. ;;

I like mine. Works well. Works as I expect. you can do more with Force rating 2 than you think.

I like my Guardian Protector PC...he's in a New Jedi Order-era PbP game. He's from the Halcyon bloodline, so has no telekinetic ability, but he's bought a bit into the Misdirect and Influence powers. Those are both really fun.

I really appreciated the change-up in talents a few weeks ago, getting that early rank in Parry is awesome. I haven't picked up the Force Rating talent yet, but it's my next purchase :)

I liked how the Scoundrel/Emergent I'd been playing prior to the Beta turned out once I added Ataru Striker to the mix.

I've mostly been GM'ing this system, but my players seem pretty happy in general with their characters and how they perform. I've got one player (a recent induction) who seems rather grumbly, but I think that's due mostly to not having quite found his niche within the rest of the group yet. He also seems to be operating under the WEG notion of how Force powers worked, and that the powers he does have (Misdirect and Seek) can do a heck of a lot more with just the basic effect than what the rule say.
