"Random" planets

By Papa Midnight, in Warhammer 40,000: Conquest

Has anyone designed or come up with a 'formula' to compose/design additional planets, other than the 10 in the Core set?

Single Icon Planet | 2 Cards or Resources | Strong Battle Ability

Double Icon Planet | 1 Card and Resource | Moderate Battle Ability

Triple Icon Planet | 1 Card or Resource | Weak Battle Ability

This is my observation, though strong/moderate/weak are subjective and based on deck type.

Theoretical No Icon Planet | 2 Cards/Resources and 1-2 Cards/Resources | Awesome Battle Ability

I wonder if eventually we'll see cards that affect "won" planets (like certain cards in CoC that mess with won adventures).

Here are some ideas:

Spoils of Conquest : Event. Action: Exaust your commander to trigger the ability of a planet in your Victory Display.

Daemonic corruption : Attachment. Deploy action: Attach this card to a planet. Each chaos unit on this planet gains 1 command icon.

Orbital Blockade : Attachment. Deploy action: Attach this card to a planet. Reduce the planet's card and recource bonus to 0.

Nurgling Infestation : Attachment. Deploy action: Attach this card to a planet. Whenever a unit is deployed or moves to this planet deal one damage to it.

Apocalyptic warpstorm : Event. Deploy action: Each player selects a number on his command dial and then reveals it. If the numbers are the same, send all units on that planet to their HQ's. If not, switch the location of those planets (For example planet 2 becomes planet 5 and vice versa.) Units and attachmenst on planets remain on those planets.

its would be cool to get some more planets!

Do we really need to think about additional planets right now? Just curious why people seem to be pushing for more of them already, before even the first battlepack. To me they're just not really the most appealing aspect of this game.

In addition, throwing more planets into the pool would destroy the built in balance that lies within the 10 card core set deck. Namely the fact that if you draw seven random planets from that pool of 10, you are GUARENTEED to have at least 3 of each colour in those seven. If you start adding planets to the deck of 10 that don't have all three colours on each, this guarantee would be lost, meaning some colours could be impossible to win with in some draws.

That's the boundless energy of creativity powering the engine of progress!

Somewhere down the line CoC Also got a new set of story cards. My guess is we'll see something similar in 40C.

I don't see why you couldn't swap a planet for another with the exact same types. So for example you could replace a RED/GREEN planet with another RED/GREEN planet, but not a GREEN planet or a RED/GREEN/BLUE one.

I would argue that not only would it be cool but it would add another layer of complexity* to the game.

(I don't think complexity is the word that I am aiming for)

:)

I would love an 'alternate art' vesion of the planets, maybe in different art style? Eldar-style or Ork-styled planet cards, with alternate backside art?
