Ship/species stats

By Pumkinspyder, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Why no stats for a Star Destroyer in EotE? I don't have the AoR book so is there one in there? would like to get them if any one has them or a good link to it

Also having been an avid player of WEG D6 Star Wars I want to make some of my old characters into NPCs. First Basic stats for a Sullistan. I know there is one in the EotE Adversaries chapter I could tweek but would rather have the base stats.

And the other...(don't laugh..) Jawa. Any thoughts on that

There are star destroyers in the AoR Core Rule Book, yes.

As to stats for species that aren't "official" yet, that isn't too much of a problem. OggDude's Character generator has as part of it, the unofficial species menagerie that lists suggested starting stats for a Jawa (BTW being a Jawa isn't bad, you just have to have some method to speak to others that makes sense, as I don't think they are capable of speaking Basic.

I would fully recommend you pick up the AoR book if you are going to be going deep into "facing the empire a lot" type territory.

Thanks. I don't plan to face the Empire too much. More to just make it feel like Star Wars. And I like to be prepared for whatever the players may come up with. and to scare them by having on suddenly show up. And right now I can't justify buying the book

Just curious as to why they weren't included

As for Jawas the best one I've seen was when my friend played a Jawa bounty hunter who hated droids. I guess I could just fudge the stats because it will only be an NPC and not meant to be a Nemesis/Rival

From my experience and knowledge of Star Wars, it's because it didn't fit.

Star Destroyers are the big guns of the Empire. 2-4 of these in orbit can essentially glass a planet, so they are saved to protect major installations or for military engagements.

Unless there's a crime boss with a large number of good sized capital ships, the Empire won't be cracking down with a Star Destroyer. Nor are these vessels used for anything small unless there's a higher up involved.

Long story short: unless there's a reason to have a ship with about 40,000 crew and enough firepower to bombard things into oblivion, you won't see a Star Destroyer there.

Sullustans are in Age of Rebellion

Also, if you PCs come up against a Star Destroyer in basically any vessel they can muster, either they run, surrender, or die. Therefore, a full stat-block is unnecessary. Give them X rounds to run, while the SD's TIE squadron chases them, or they get captured/killed.

Normally there would be no conflict with a Star Destroyer. And a smart player would run

It's just my nerdiness that wants the stats
