After the prequel trilogy, I sincerely believe the most appropriate title for Episode VII is "A New Hope".
Star Wars: Episode VII' has a title: 'The Force Awakens'
History is written by the winners. Since Palp and the Republic and the clones won, I would think the war would be referred to more as the Separatist War, not the Clone War.
I'm not sure of the official title in EU, but the only reference we get to this war was during the Ben-Luke conversation calling it "The Clone Wars". We have two people with at least some dislike of the Empire having an unofficial conversation. The same conversation between an Imperial officer and an Imperial historian would probably have them calling it something like, "The Seperatist Wars".
I always thought that there was a clone army that was fought by the Jedi not that they fought with the clones.
I think that is what we all assumed before the prequels. I'm also guessing that was GL's original intention before he detailed the back story.
But, to be fair, what happened at the end of the Clone Wars? And the Imperial PR campaign after the war would of course stress how the Jedi were corrupt and the magnificent Imperial clone army took care of both them and the Seperatists. So, for many who didn't live through the truth, it WAS a war that had a clone army fighting the Jedi. The parts of the Jedi fighting alongside the Clones would be downplayed. Their combined victories would later be more attributed to the Clones by the Empire. Official descriptions of the Clones fighting the Jedi at the end of the wars wouldn't include the Clones simply ambushing and shooting the Jedi in the back, but heroic tales of Clones in pitched battles prevailing against the corrupt Jedi.
So the official Imperial version:
THE SEPERATIST WARS began when corrupt Jedi (led by Count Dooku) stirred up greedy and power-hungry political and mercantile factions within the Republic. This revolt was put down by Palpatine wisely forming the magnificent Clone Army which eventually prevailed over the Seperatists and the Jedi, cleansing the Republic and forming the Empire.
ETA: The unofficial street version:
THE CLONE WARS involved political in-fighting between various factions within the Republic spawning the creation of a clone army. This tool was used by Palpatine to form an Empire from the turmoil and push aside all opposing factions including the mystical force-users.

How about: A Hope Renewed

This is the best explanation / head cannon I've seen that makes the Clone War name make sense.
(I still like the Zhan book ideas better, that the Clone War was against cloned jedi. Two men enter, which one exited? Obi-Wan or Clone OB-1?)

I recall hoping, due to "OB-1", that we would some day find out Kenobi was indeed a cloned child that became a Jedi. I was hoping the prequel would reveal that, making Kenobi yet another step up in coolness.
Pinewood has been booked.
Speaking at the annual CBI conference in London, Pinewood Shepperton CEO Ivan Dunleavy announced that another Star Wars would be heading back to the studio facility, without offering any further details.
"The seventh Star Wars movie just finished shooting at Pinewood. And I'm delighted to be able to tell you that a new Star Warsmovie is already booked in," he said.
I'm way more interested in the filler movies than the third trilogy. Not that I'm not looking forward to the third trilogy but I think they are more likely to be fresher and more innovative since they potentially are free of being weighed down by the ongoing major story arc.
After the prequel trilogy, I sincerely believe the most appropriate title for Episode VII is "A New Hope".
How about: A Hope Renewed
"A Newer Hope"
or
"A Brand Spankin' New Hope"
"Same Old Hope with a New Paintjob"
"Star Wars 7: A New Hope 2"
"Episode VII: When you wish upon a star"
I feel like we should expect the titles to go something like this:
Episode VII: The Force Awakens
Episode VIII: The Force Eats Breakfast
Episode IX: The Force Goes to School
![]()
Episode X: The Force Brings a Doctor's Note to Get Out of Gym Class
Episode X: The Force Brings a Doctor's Note to Get Out of Gym Class
Didn't we already get that in the prequels?
"Episode VII: When you wish upon a star"
"Episode VII: When you wish upon a DEATH star"
While we're on the subject of Disney doing the new star wars movies:
Would any of you watch a version of "Cars" but with the ships for Star Wars?
Only if its soundtrack was at least 50% Rascal Flatts tunes. And if the ships danced to the music.
