Some interesting news in regards to the Star Wars LCG: FFG will eventually be rotating out older cycles in favor of new cycles, so there will be a maximum of 7 cycles (plus the core set and premium expansions) at any given time.

But the first rotation is not scheduled until 2018.

This means that FFG has (or is planning on having), the Star Wars license until at least 2018. Presumably the same license is also used for X-wing. Hopefully there will be lots more X-wing goodness for years to come!

Rotation is unique to their Living Card Games. I don't think they could ever reduce the number of ships in X-wing, especially the iconic ships from the first several waves.

Yeah, that is just the basic plan. It means nothing. I can assure you, at the current rate of release, the LCG is not going to hit it's 7 cycle until well after 2018. For some reason, it gets delayed as all get out. And just because that is the plan, it doesn't necessarily mean the license is all safe until then. They have stuff planned 18 months ahead of time.
