Where are sensors explained?

By Orjo Creld, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Can't find any explanation for ship sensors, although Nightflyer from BtR has some protection from them. FFG you need better indeces

p227, right column on the "datapad."

sensor rules in this system are rather sparse for rules. Technically with the RAW, a stock YT-1300 would have a hard time spotting anything at medium range unless it knew were to look, and could be targeted by a capital ship with Turbolasers at long range and never know the Capital ship was there until it started firing.

Sensors are not really explained in star wars at all. We know they have life sensors... but I have no idea how those work or any other sensors. For that matter.

They work narratively.

I read somewhere that the 'Short' Range on most sensors was for passive searching, but if a ship were 'Scanning' specific areas the range was the medium band. Can't remember where and I don't have CRB on me at the moment.

It's on p. 227, just like Ghost said in #2 herein...
